06/03/14 3 5 1 1 I had struggled with chronic diarrhea for a year or two before being referred to Dr. Stal. First, his bedside manner was atrocious: I felt like I was talking to a robot. No empathy. Second, the sigmoidoscopy he performed where I wasn't knocked out was painful as all hell. I later had a full-on colonscopy which thankfully I was put under general anaesthesia for. Later he asked me if I wasn't sure it wasn't all just in my head. Finally he told me to call him "if it gets worse". At that point in my life, I could rarely make it to work on time, couldn't exercise, couldn't socialise, without having to constantly run to the bathroom. A doctor in my family explained that "if it gets worse" implied that maybe the causes weren't visible at this point, and if it got worse maybe it would be easier to diagnose. But would it have killed my doctor to have explained that to me? I felt like I was just thrown out to the wild and have suffered for years since. Finally found a caring GI.  Respond

26/06/13 2 5 2 1 Dr. Stahl left everything up to his student to do. His student dr. recorded many totally wrong symtoms. In the end he told me to try Align! He was always trying to get out so fast. Did absolutely nothing for me nor did he want to. Would not recommend him at all. Does not let you talk at all. Worse Dr. I have ever seen.  Respond

29/06/10 5 5 5 5 Dr. Stal performed a colonoscopy on me earlier today. He did so in the most professional and personable manner possible. I can't help but think some of the complaints about him on this site were brought on by the patients themselves. If you have a gastrointestinal problem or if you're simply having a routine colonoscopy, I can't recommend Dr. Stal highly enough.  Respond

18/02/10 1 1 1 3 I had to re-schedule an appointment. Despite numerous attempts to reach the doctor's assistant by phone, there was no response; the worst secretarial service one can imagine. Who knows how good the doctor actually is, if you can't get to re-schedule an appointment.  Respond

17/11/09 5 5 5 5 Dr Stal is my life saver. For years I use to suffer from stomach ulcer and irritable bowel syndrom. My family doctor use to prescribe very very expensive and strong medication with no result. (couldn't eat, couldn't sleep from pain, I was very miserable) until I ended up in the emergency and they referred me to Dr. Stal. He treated me in 10 days, and he did all necessary follow ups and now I feel very good and very happy, I have a normal life and I owe it to Dr Stal. I wish my family doctor could learn from him. Please see him if you need help, he is THE BEST.  Respond

25/03/09 1 3 1 3 Worst Dr. I have ever had.Colonoscopy was rushed and painful, he was very rough during the procedure...he pumped me so full of drugs I couldnt breathe without oxygen for an hour afterwards..,not good for a young man in very good physical shape! I then had to wait for several weeks for the results...not recommended!!  Respond

07/02/09 5 5 5 5 It often takes *years* for people with celiac disease to get diagnosed even when they have severe symptoms. I had mild symptoms, which a lot of doctors don't even realize is associated with celiac, and Dr. Stal immediately suggested that I be tested (a whole 5 minutes into the appointment--tests were positive). Thank you, Dr. Stal!  Respond

05/09/08 5 5 5 5 Dr Stal has been my doctor for years and has gone way and above the call of duty when it comes to my care. He has always listened intently and is always willing to assist you in getting a second opinion. He came to the rcovery room not once but twice to make sure I was ok. Good Doctor with good contacts in a very reputable hospital. Would highly recomment him and I'm picky.  Respond

03/06/08 1 3 1 1 Dr. Stal rushes you in and out, even when performing colonoscopies, to the point you are concerned he misses things. He is rude, unhelpful and refused to listen, when I ended up correct in the end. He is the WORST doctor I have ever seen in terms of bedside manner. His office refused to allow me to have my follow up from a colonoscopy until 6 WEEKS later, even though it showed a problem. He still has not helped me and I have been his patient for 3 months now. This doctor makes me hate doctors in general when I imagine how poorly he does his job and still gets paid.  Respond
