I have been a patient of Dr. Hunter's since 2006. Diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, she implanted a difibulator that year and has treated me since. She is a highly qualified, professional, caring physician who shows deep concern for patients. She takes time to gather enough information make an accurate diagnosis, carefully explains her findings in detail, and answers all questions. She is easy to talk with and has Always made me feel I am the reason for her day, not an interruption to it. Her staff is Very friendly & waiting time is minimal. In 7 years the longest I have ever waited to see her is 10 minutes. After being admitted to Hoag Hospital in November, 2011 I suffered a heart attack. Dr. Hunter cared for me, stabalized me and referred me to Cedars-Sinai Hospital where I received a heart transplant in January of 2012. I am still under her care for general follow-up. In short, she saved my life. I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone in search of an Excellent cardiologist!

I have been a patient for 12 years for Atrial Fib and mine is severe. Doctor Hunter has done a fantastic job I respect and like her very much as my Doctor and Friend. I rate her and Newport Heart as one of the best Clinics / Offices in the West. I am still alive and have a somewhat normal life thanks to Dr. Hunter.

Dr. Hunter use to be really good 10 years ago and took a lot of time with me. However, it's like she doesn't like being a doctor any more. I truly believe it's because of Insurance Companies Bull that some good doctors now hate their jobs. She got kinda shot with me around the time my Blue Cross PPO was purchased and Health Net started screwing with doctors testing needed and with patients. Patients are being ripped apart by the medical politics between their doctors and their Insurance Companies. This is not to excuse Dr. Hunters actions but I also think she only works part time.

She was actually quite rude to me. I'm sure she was having a bad day or something but it's not just that.. she also seemed like she was in a hurry and wanted me out of that room as quickly as she possibly could. The tone of her voice was quite rude. First visit was more than enough. Not going back there again.

Dr. Hunter is very busy and her office staff is unfriendly and unhelpful It is difficult to get a message through to her. When she does get back to you, she is very caring and knowledgable but the chaos makes me too nervous. I fear i will be overlooked when I need her.

Found her very hurried and uncaring and felt my case was not inportant enough for her to deal with. Her assistant hard to contact for just quick questions. No longer going there.

I found the Dr. hurried and didn't really listen to me as well as I had hoped she would. I had medication questions but so hard to get a message to and from her.

Dr. Hunter is fabulous. She is extremely knowledgeable, willing to take the time to explain your condition and the treatment plan. I highly recommend her. The only downfall is her assistant, who is difficult to reach, doesn't return calls or follow through.
