02/04/14 5 5 5 5 I have seen the poor reviews and was expecting the worse, but was pleasantly surprised. Her receptionist was amazing - kind and friendly. I went to see Dr. O'Neil regarding a mole that I was worried about and she removed it. She was knowledgeable, reassuring and friendly. The procedure was done well and she answered all my questions right away. I would go back to see her again for medical care.

28/10/13 1 1 1 3 Have been a patient for over 7 years. Was informed by receptionist that Dr.O'Neill is no longer accepting "new " patients. When I explained I am not new but a returning patient - I was told if I had not been seen within the past year I am not considered an active patient. If I had known about this new policy I would have had my doctor refer me sooner!! Now I must find a new dermatologist and I suppose pay to have all my files transferred to this new doctor. Receptionist was rude to boot. Very disappointed.  Respond

28/08/13 3 2 1 2 I went to this Doctor for a second opinion of a skin condition which was diagnosed as atopic dermatitis. (eczema) I had become very frustrated with getting the "run around" from Doctors and being prescribed jars of cortisone creams and antihistamines and got a bit teary eyed in her office. She basically told me it wasn't cancer so just live with it.  Respond

29/07/13 2 2 2 2 Not surprised that all the previous ratings were removed as they were all negative. This doctor was very curt and ignorant, as she stated, "I don't know if my English is not clear, but..." she made my daughter cry as she was extremely rude and insensitive. Too busy to listen and walks around with a wart remover. One of her receptionists is also a real winner...NOT. The last time I left the office, I vowed never to go back again as I felt insulted.

07/01/13 3 3 1 1 Don't bother seeing her if you're a man. She rushed me right out of her office and was of no help. It's seems she's only interested in selling her products to women.  Respond

16/12/12 4 5 2 1 Friendly, but not anyone I would ever recommend for Botox injections. Ended up with a very crooked smile, which I will give her credit for she tried to correct, but just made it worse.  Respond

23/03/12 5 5 5 5 ..was a 1st time patient today. I got lost on the way to the office, called reception and got very helpful directions. Receptionist was pleasant and professional. The doctor was on time. Karen O'Neil was extremely courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly. She diagnosed the issue quickly, explained to me why it happened, and referred me to a specialist to get it treated. I was expecting the worst based on these reviews, but my experience with her was extremely positive.  Respond

04/01/12 3 3 1 1 I was referred from another Dr's office for cosmetic treatments. I called and left a couple of messages and even sent an email hoping for someone to return my messages. After a few weeks I gave up and took my business elsewhere. I now go to the McLean Clinic in Mississauga and was pleasantly happy with their service and my treatment. I've even sent a few of my friends there now. Dr Oneill's office has lost out on hundreds if not thousands of dollars.  Respond

15/10/11 5 5 5 5 I am disappointed in the comments I have read on this site. I waited for 6 months for my appointment and on arrival the staff were courteous. Dr. O'Neill was friendly and took the time to ask me many questions to help determine the cause of my skin condition. Finally, her diagnosis was the same as my GP's but recommended a much stronger cream to help the condition. After only 48 hours I can see improvement. I highly recommend this specialist.  Respond

19/09/11 4 4 2 3 Overall I was disappointed with Dr. O'Neil. I had to wait 6 months to get an appointment with her. Then when I arrived at the office, she spent only 10 minutes to see me. I felt rushed, didn't feel comfortable, and when I had an additional question she said she had no time. Also, I felt that she was promoting her other services. Really disappointed. I decided not to proceed with my laser surgery with her and have opted to look for a more friendly, approachable dermatologist elsewhere.  Respond

08/08/11 5 5 5 5 I have had nothing but fantastic service and care from Dr. O'Neill and her staff. Her staff is very nice on the phone and in person. Her office is very well run and organized. I very rarely wait more than 10 min after my appointment time. They always phone me to remind me of my appointments and when she referred me to a plastic surgeon it was very fast. Her staff phoned me and gave me all the details of my appointment with the plastic surgeon and when I misplaced the information they cheerfully gave me all the details again! Dr. O'Neill is always in such a cheerful mood and never makes me feel rushed or unimportant. She even remembers conversations we have had in the past and asks how things are. Before I leave she always makes sure to tell me to make a follow up appointment in 6 months with the receptionist.  Respond

28/07/11 1 1 1 1 I found it odd that this Doctor is a determatologist, and yet she had to wear so much make-up in order to hide her horrible skin! Also, the reception was so rude. I asked if they could recommend me to someone else who could see my baby who has severe eczema, and they told me no, as they are booked into February and the baby's doctor will have to figure it out as they wouldn't see my son (even though he is just a baby, not a woman trying to "fix" her face with botox...etc) FRUSTRATING!!!!!  Respond

02/02/11 1 4 1 1 O'Neil is more interested in selling botox then being a dermatologist! She ignored a growing freckle & insisted it was nothing! It was malignant melanoma & on top of that the rate she gave it was wrong! She made it sound like it was nothing. Told me I would hear back from a plastic surgeon for a surgery date & a melanoma clinic. I never heard back from anyone! I found my own plastic surgeon & he didn't even let me leave his office 'you're 28 with a history of melanoma in your family and she didn't take it out?'! My cancer was far worse then her diagonsis. I had to see a general surgeon & have lymphnodes removed! I now have lymphodema in my right arm & two ugly large scars across my chest! I'm right handed & cant write for more than 5 mins & my car is standard & I cant drive for longer then 20 mins. If you're looking for a skin examination DO NOT go see her! Self-Advocacy saved my life! I have never heard back from her since she called me on my cell to tell me I have cancer at 7:45pm!  Respond

06/10/10 3 5 4 4 I found Dr. Karen and Lori both very friendly and helpful and very personalble. Been into their clinic several times now for both pre cancer treatments, botex and photo facials and no complaints. The photo facial had great results!! Sometimes the other staff are short and sometimes a little rude.. but as long as i'm happy with my treatments that's all i care about. It's not spa it's dr's office..  Respond

07/05/10 5 4 5 5 I'm really surprised at all the negative comments - my family and I have been seeing her on and off for the past 15 years - since I was six years old! and as recently as just after my 24th birthday - and I don't recognize the 'horrible' person. She and her staff have always been kind, considerate, and friendly! I love the advice she's given me - seen her regarding warts, moles, acne, allergy scars - she has always been helpful and knowledgeable, giving me choices. Never once tried to sell anything to us. She's very easy and comfortable to talk to as well. I highly recommend her.  Respond

05/05/10 1 3 1 1 This woman is more interested in earning money through botox and collagen injections rather than treating patients with severe skin problems. She first diagnosed my problem as eczema and gave me a hydrocortisone cream. Then, when the problem got worse, she simply acted like I was wasting her time and sent me away in 5 minutes. I was covered in blisters from head to toe before she freaked out and sent me to a specialist in Sunnybrook, Toronto. I have an autoimmune blistering rash called pemphigus foliaceus, which she had no knowledge of, but she did not even have the interest or common sense to do lab tests until I looked like a freaking dalmatian and lost some of my hair. DON'T go to her. You will regret it.  Respond

09/04/10 1 1 1 2 Horrible dermatologist. UNPROFESSIONAL, lack of courtesy to patients and acts as if she's doing you a favour. I would like to remind Dr.Karen O Neil that we pay for such services through the high level of taxes we submit. I waited over 4 months for an appointment and she started rushing me out within 5 minutes before I could finish asking my questions and explaining my situation. She stated...'that's a lot of question for one visit.' Well, that is why she is getting paid big bucks. Her attitude was one of maximizing her sales rather than giving proper attention and treatment to her patients.  Respond

02/02/10 3 3 3 3 Went to see this doc to get rid of wrinkles under the eyes. She said that I needed juvederm. What ended up happening is that I had the juvederm injections which plumped up the skin far below my eyes but did nothing for my wrinkles!! Am not happy at all...others I know have had their wrinkles removed. Botox is very dangerous but jevederm is awful. There must be a better way to remove under eye wrinkles!!  Respond

28/10/09 4 4 3 4 Friendly and knowledgeable, but not a doctor who follows up or asks you to. No follow up encouraged for skin cancer screening after I had cancer removed twice. Would have thought a yearly or 6-mth appointment would be standard.  Respond

01/01/09 3 4 2 3 I am shocked and appalled by Dr. O'Neill's snippy comments, including that I should 'enjoy my whole bag of chips'. Worse was the waiver she wanted me to sign in order to get the laser treatment which she suggested for mole removal. It says that patients should not hold her responsible for any adverse affects of the treatment she administers. Is that in line with professional ethics? Aren't we responsible for harm that we cause? She didn't think so, as 'it's a standard waiver'. After being angry about having to turn off the laser machine, she wished me a Merry Christmas in a tone that suggested she'd like me to go to Hell. Then came the 'chip comment'. She's not a very nice person, is she?  Respond

17/03/08 5 5 4 5 Dr.O'Neil removed a raised birthmark for me. I think she was wonderful - however the birthmark has come back - but to a much lesser extent than it was before. I had lots of questions and she answered them all with lots of patience. During the proceedure (10 minutes max.) she was talking the whole time and distracting me from what she was doing - which I took as a GREAT thing because it was really gross and she got my mind off it. I know if I went back she would remove the rest of the birthmark - I just haven't done it yet. I recommend her.

08/07/07 5 5 5 5 I have been seeing Dr. O'Neil for 4 years for spider vein treatments. Both she and her receptionist have always been professional and personable. I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes for any appointment and have even been taken earlier if the earlier patient was late. I have never felt rushed during treatments and all of my questions have been answered to my complete satisfaction. When I had a condition that could not be resolved by dermatology, she was quick to refer me to a qualified plastic surgeon. Dr. O'Neil is terrific!  Respond

06/06/07 4 5 5 Dr O'Neill is in high demand, so she is often rushing from patient to patient. Her receptionists are usually abrupt, sometimes to the point of rudeness - particularly on the phone. One time one of her receptionists knocked on the door (where I was having my consultation) and told Dr. O'Neill to keep moving when it was determined that she had spent too much time with me. I do think Dr. O'Neill is a terrific doctor and would recommend her.  Respond

27/04/07 2 2 3 too much of hurry and makes you feel like you are wasting her time - not concerned with listening to patient - more concerned with explaining her point of view to shorten time with patient and move on to next one - good business woman, not a warm personality.  Respond

16/04/07 4 4 3 I and my daughter have been patients for many years, Dr. O'Neil has always been helpfull, friendly, puntual and very professional. Sometimes a little rushed.
