Dr. Zapata delivered my son about 6 years ago. I saw him for after care and for getting an IUD put in. In the long run I had complications with the IUD and he was understanding and he made sure that I knew what I was getting myself into. Overall I think that Zapata is a good Dr. and I will continue to see him. I rated him with 4s because he isn't always on time with his appointments, but what Doctor is always on time?

I have been seeing Dr. Zappa for 30 years...He's wonderful. He has always quieted my fears and made me feel normal. I've become a good medical patient because of him. Great surgeon!!
I have seen this physician for over 18 years. He is an absolute amazing man. Everyone has a right to their opinion and for him to be a doctor for as many years as he has has to say something about his integrity and compasion for patients.

Dr. Zapata attended the delivery of my first born. I was interested in a natural birth and Dr. Zapata, without reading my birth plan, told my I should have an epidural, and that he wouldn't hesitate to give his own daughter one. He had no respect at all for my wishes. I don't think he has any idea what an empowering experience a natural childbirth can be for a woman. Later, while I was in the pushing stage of delivery, he gave me an episiotomy. When he told the nurse he was going to do this, I said quite clearly "Don't cut me", but he didn't even hesitate. Had he explained why he felt he needed to do this, or allowed me to labor a few more minutes without, I may have felt included in the decision and therefore, more comfortable with it, but instead, I felt like the crazy lady on the delivery table. To anybody who wants a natural childbirth and is considering having Dr. Zapata as their doctor, DON'T!! If my story keeps even one woman away from him, I'll feel a little better.
