12/01/14 1 3 1 1 Yes he is very nice but my case was not handled well. I broke down in his office and desperately needed a referral to speak to someone. I was not coping and more tests were not the answer. Instead of learning to live with my condition and live well - I ended up going through more tests, hospitalizations, c diff colitis and months of sleeping pill abuse. Dr Grover could have saved me but didn't.  Respond

26/05/12 5 5 5 5 Dr Grover is a wonderful, caring doctor who has gone to every extent possible to help me with my medical issues. His team, and the nursing staff at St Mike's are the best in the business. I don't have one complaint, or concern on how I was taken care of during my 5 day stay in hospital. Even though I am still having problems, Dr. Grover is continuing to work with me to find out why I have these problems, and I am certain he will continue to help me until I get better. You will never meet a more caring doctor, and medical team. I appreciate everything he has done for me thus far. Troy Collins  Respond

04/06/11 2 5 5 5 Dr. Grover is a wonderful doctor and gets to the bottom of of your medical problem. I went from doctor to doctor and specialists; he was able to make a diagnosed - Eosinophilic Esophagitis. I was able to eat again. He has the most caring soothing disposition and really cares about his patients. Very skillful. On the other, hand his assistant is rude & abrupt. Doesn't return calls. I only call when I have an issue & it is an effort. I tried to reschedule an appointment; "can I reschedule the procedure" and her comment was: "if you like???" I am the patient and Dr Grover deals in specialty cases so she should have more empathy and is it not her job? She is not doing me a favour... I was crying when I put down the phone as I had been pretty ill. This is not a way to treat patients. However, I cannot praise Dr. Grover enough and what a skillful doctor. St. Michael's is fortunate to have him on their staff. The reception staff when you see him are fabulous. Just praise for them.  See Responses

05/03/11 5 5 5 5 Dr. Grover is a wonderful physician. I never feel rushed at my appointments which have always run on time. His secretary, Rayann, is also very pleasant and efficient. He has a very friendly yet professional bed side manner. Dr. Grover has a great sense of humor which I think is important as GI disease can be depressing given the pain and unpleasant side effects. I give Dr.Samir Grover an A+  Respond

You may have a wait sometimes to see him, but to have him care for you, its worth the wait! I highly recommend Dr. Grover.  Respond

21/10/10 5 5 5 5 Dr Grover is an amazing doctor. My son is like a new person since seeing Dr. Grover and getting the health care he needs. The first time we saw him he spent over an hour with us and we didn't have an appointment he was just leaving for lunch. He explained more to us than anyone had in 10 years. He is knowledgeable and caring. He has made a huge difference.  Respond

22/08/10 5 5 5 5 I recently spent two weeks in St Micheal's Hospital under the care of Dr. Grover and his team of interns. I am most impressed with his caring nature and his ability to "think outside the box" as others have put it. His dedication to his patients is incredible. I have seen him leaving the hospital at 10 or 11 PM most days when I was admitted to the hospital. My daughter was very taken aback from my sudden illness: Dr. Grover came by to see me one evening, but mainly to talk to my daughter and to cheer her up. He even played a game of cards with her and lifted both her spirits, and mine. His patients are truly lucky to have him. The nurses, pharmacists and even the orderlies and cleaning staff in the ward all think he is unbelievable, which says much about his character. I am personally very indebted to him for his thoughtful and kind care.  Respond

18/02/10 5 5 5 5 Dr. Grover is an incredibly gifted and talented doctor. What sets him apart though are his kind attitude, his warm sense of humor, and his innate ability to almost instantly connect with anyone. It is not hard to find a smart specialist, but it is so very hard to find one who is both smart and caring. Dr. Grover has that rare combination. I was his patient for 2 years (I have ulcerative colitis) when I was in school in Toronto before moving to New York. He is one in a million. His smile and laugh can lift my spirits instantly. Whenever I was early for my appointments, I was overwhelmed by the kindness that he showed to others (he bought one homeless man lunch just because he had a long wait to see him!) I cannot thank him enough for his comprehensive and thorough care, for his kindness and and for his generosity with his time in taking care of even the sickest. I wish there were more like him!  Respond

29/12/09 5 5 5 5 Love him. Absolutely the best doctor I have ever seen. I was also diagnosed with IBS and had seen two specialists that dismissed me without any testing until I requested a referral to Toronto. Dr. Grover and his resident went through my complete history and his testing uncovered that I actually have celiac disease! I had rashes on my elbows and Dr. Grover arranged a skin biopsy through Dr. Peter Hacker that showed dermatitis hepeformis which is a rash that people with celiac disease get. Now on a gluten free diet for six months I feel like I have gotten my life back. I cannot even begin to thank Dr. Grover. He is brilliant (his office is filled with awards that he hasn't even had time to put on the walls) but what makes him truly special though is his thoughtfulness and kindness which are far above and beyond the call of duty. He is one of a kind and I feel truly blessed that I was able to get him as my doctor. Also thanks to his nurse Margaret and secretary Rayann who are great too!  Respond

23/12/09 5 5 5 5 Dr. Grover has literally changed my life. Previous gastroenterologists diagnosed me with IBS, however, Dr. Grover took the time to listen to me and has since diagnosed me with another condition. I was having extreme symptoms and he saw me immediately and got to the bottom of the issue. My previous gastroenterologist would make me wait for months (even though I had to visit the ER) and when I did see him he couldn't have cared less and would tell me to "eat more". Dr. Grover is simply the best gastroenterologist I've encountered - both in qualification and in bedside manner. I feel lucky to have been referred to him. As a side note, the scope was 100 times better than my previous scope and his team are just as professional and amazing as he is.  Respond

20/06/09 5 5 5 5 Dr. Grover is an incredible doc and a wonderful human being. I can't say enough nice things about him. He treated me for lifethreatening internal bleeding when I was referred into Toronto from our hospital in Orangeville in 2007 and fixed a bleeding vein that our docs couldn't. And he is so pleasant and cheerful when I see him for my followups. Wish there were more like him! Saved my life.  Respond

20/02/09 5 5 5 5 Dr. Samir Grover is a gem. He diagnosed and treated my ulcerative colitis over the past six months and has assisted me back to health. He is compassionate, caring, and has always gone the extra mile for me. He has such a pleasant bedside manner. When he had to do a colonoscopy procedure for me, his team of nurses and junior doctors were equally professional and the procedure was the easiest colonoscopy I have ever had. I am not surpised by the positive impression that others have had about Dr. Grover because he really is one of the best I have encountered.  Respond

12/11/08 5 5 5 5 Dr. Grover is a compassionate, talented and dedicated person. His colleagues hold him in very high regard as well.My condition was rare and very serious, and he spent a great deal of time with me. He never made me feel rushed and his kind, respectful manner is superb. He also has a great sense of humour. Very importantly, he thinks "outside the box", unlike many other doctors. His patients come first and you can trust him completely 100%. You can see him for any medical concern..he will help you and will also be a powerful advocate for you. 20/10/08 5 5 5 5 Dr. Samir Grover not only excels in his profession, but he is an inspiring humanitarian who touched our hearts with his genuine caring and willingness to find solutions, even to problems that were outside his many areas of expertise. For students lucky enough to study under him, my only advice would be to learn as much from the things he doesn’t teach you as from those he does. He is a glowing example of the balance needed to be the very best, a good percentage of which cannot be found in a textbook. We are deeply grateful to him.  Respond

25/06/08 5 5 5 5 SUPER GOOD DOCTOR!!! Went to see another specialist in Oakville who saw me for 3 minutes and sent me away. Dr. Grover TOOK THE TIME and took my complete family history and told me to get an early SCOPE TEST because I am only 37. He found a LITTLE CANCER and cured me with the Colonoscopy. THANK GOD we still have careful doctors like him and not the money grabbers and pill pushers!!!!  Respond

21/05/08 5 5 5 5 A great great doctor. He saved my dad's life. My dad has cirrosis of the liver and was in death's door with an internal bleeding of the stomach and no doctor in Buffalo where dad lives knew how to stop it. The doctor at ECMC hospital called around to see if there was a specialist in New York who could treat this rare condition (called bleeding gastric varices). They couldn't find anyone, so they called Canada in desperation and got Dr. Grover on the phone who made arrangements for dad to go by plane to the intencive care area at his hospital (Saint Michael's Hospital). Dr. Grover and his team spent three hours treating dad with a special superglue that stopped the bleeding immediately. He spent a week in the hospital in Canada and then they released him..... Dad is doing great now. On top of everything, even though the hospital charged us for the room, Dr. Grover waived all of his fees! He is a super doctor and he saved my Dad's life.
