Dr. Steve Macedo is an amazing doctor. He is patient, caring, and extremely smart. He cured a migraine headache problem that countless other dr's were unable to figure out, and he has guided me on other health issues that has probably saved my life. His office staff was very poorly run a few years ago, but it currently is MUCH improved and I have not had any difficulty making appointments with him. If he doesn't have an answer, he will refer you to another dr. who is sure to help. I wish all dr.'s were as caring and intelligent.

I think the staff has improved since some of these comments, and those on other sites, were posted. While slow, they've always been friendly and helpful to me. Macedo himself is great, knowledgeable, kind, and straight forward. A bit forgetful sometimes, he generally errs on the side of being proactive. I've felt well cared for.

I used to be a patient at Dr. Macedo's practice. I was satisfied with the care the doctors provide. However, two major drawbacks that ultimately made me change doctors was (1) difficulty of scheduling appts. Many of the doctors are only available sporadically during the week, and you can't schedule emergency visits for the flu, etc. (2) The staff is by far the RUDEST, MOST UNPROFESSIONAL, AND INCOMPETENT. This includes the office support staff at the front desk, as well as the nurses. I had one yell at me in full view of the office and other patients b/c I'd inquired about how much longer I might have to wait (I'd been waiting for a total of about 1 1/2 hrs.) and b/c I expressed concern about her statement that they couldn't find my file/had no record of my last visit. Dr. Macedo assured me the employee would be dealt w/ and that it wasn't the first time they'd had probs w/ her, but the damage was done. I no longer felt comfortable w/ being a patient there.
While Dr. Macedo himself is a good doctor, the staff is horrible. The fact that you have deal with such rude staff members really ruins the high expertise Macedo can offer you. The staff are very unprof and rude. It is too bad because in terms of depth of knowledge and the level of care Macedo provides is excellent. But i think the rudenesss of the staff outweigh's Macedo's high quality of care. However, Macedo does have a tendency to cancel on the day of the appt (after you have already submitted your sick leave form for work to see him). Ofcourse, if you cancel within 24 hours of your appt he will charge you $30 for doing so.

The doctor's office is very poorly run, and the staff is the worst I've ever seen. Prescription requests are botched as often as not. Dr. Macedo himself is a good doctor in my opinion, and a very nice man. Unfortunately, every time I have to visit his office and interact with his office staff, it's like pulling teeth.
By far THE worst experience I have ever had at any doctor's office in 40 years. How they stay in business is beyond me (and many others if you visit the Washington Medical Center page on the consumer page yelp.com. Expensive, unprofessional & rude office staff, required a return (simply because they were "over scheduled") and they charged me twice for the return. Doctor's "results" were inconclusive, and I had to go elsewhere anyway. Avoid this place at all costs.
