28/04/14 5 1 1 2 I waited several months to see this doctor. I went to my appointment on time and waited in the clinic for well over an hour. I was greeted by her RN who told me to disrobe for examination. She breezed in very quickly, said hello and asked why I was in to see her. She looked at my issue, and said, I'll be back, and disappeared. In the meantime I read postings on the wall (for the staff) about types of biopsies. Her RN returned about 10 minutes after she disappeared, to get a tray ready. I asked him what he was doing, he replied he was getting a tray ready for biopsy. I replied that while waiting I had informed myself, and wanted to know which one he was doing. He gave me an answer and proceeded to explain. She returned and did the biopsy herself. I asked,"what are you checking for?" She answered,"everything". I hardly felt a thing when she did the biopsy and give her great credit for her skills in this area. Her mannerism rates a "0". I have a right to know what is going on with my body  Respond

03/04/14 2 1 1 1 Dr. Monson is beyond horrible! I waited an hour to see her, she came in and spent 2 minutes asking me questions that had no relevance to what I was there for, and she was rude! She wants you in, and out! She doesn't care what your issue is, she goes on for 2 minutes and makes you feel stupid when you ask questions! It was so uncomfortable, that as soon as I left her office, I called my family doctor and had her give me a referral to another dermatologist. I Never want to see that lady again...  Respond

06/03/14 2 1 2 2 I waited over an hour to see her, and when she finally came to see me, she had me disrobe and sit alone in the exam room for another 20 mins. She was not thorough and did not seem to care about me or my problem. She just said to get blood work and that she'd call me with the results. It's been over a month and I still haven't heard anything from her or her staff. Absolutely terrible doctor and I will never be returning. We can also note the fact that I had to wait 5 months to actually see her.  Respond

27/01/14 2 1 1 1 waited over an hour to see her. In retrospect, I wish I had walked out of the office along with the couple that did from the waiting room today. she did not care. she apologized for the long wait without even looking at my face, and took all of 5 seconds to examine me. I had a mole beneath my hair which she missed seeing because she didn't bother moving my hair over in order to see beneath it. this woman does not deserve to be responsible for the care of others. she has no passion for dermatology and no people skills. I will never return.

14/07/13 5 5 5 5 In response to person on 6/25/2013, your response is most selfish, self-centered and uninformed. How do you rate a doctor as 1 for knowledge when you never saw them! Dr. Monson has been my dermatologist for 5 years and she is the MOST knowledgable doctor I have ever met. You are NOT going to get your hair done, you are going to see a medical professional who is probably dealing with other patients with major health issues or telling a family their relative has cancer. Maybe that's why you had to wait for an hour... does that deserve such a selfish response by you? I am sure if it was you with the new diagnosis of skin cancer, you would appreciate her taking the time to answer your questions. If you actually saw Dr. Monson for a REAL medical problem, you would NEVER complain about having to wait an hour. As Ontario taxpayers, we all appreciate that you "used your feet" and left her office before being seen since we didn't have to pay for your non-urgent, unnecessary medical appointment.  Respond

25/06/13 1 1 1 1 I never actually saw Dr. Monson. She kept me waiting so long that I left in disgust, especially since I arrived on time for my "appointment" and someone who arrived later was seen ahead of me. Her third-world style walk-in clinic in a suburban strip mall is over-crowded and dirty. The receptionist is apathetic. I would never consider returning to this doctor. Most of these comments, even the ones praising Dr. Monson, mention the long wait. Clearly she overbooks intentionally to maximize her payments at patients' expense, and that is unacceptable. As for the comment from the person who stated that patients should stop whining about long wait times, I say stop being so compliant when a doctor doesn't respect you. Stand up for your rights, and vote with your feet!  Respond

27/05/13 4 4 5 5 I saw the doctor today! Yes I did wait about forty five minutes, but the doctor was worth the wait. She was pleasant, well mannered, informed me reasons for my hair loss, knowledgeable and wrote a prescription for me. She is very thorough and to ensure there is nothing else going on, I will be doing blood work. She is a great doctor and there really should be more doctors like her!!!!

05/04/13 5 4 5 5 A brilliant Dr. with a worldy view able to discuss all aspects of my condition and potential treatments. Was running about 15 minutes behind schedule but this is completely due to high demand for the services provided. The Dr. is currently treating my cancer markers with success. R. White

04/07/12 3 1 2 2 Probably the worst doctor I've ever seen. She was an hour late. Then when she finally came in to meet me, she had me disrobe, left the room, and didn't return for another 20 minutes! I went to have my moles checked, and she literally glanced over them and said they were fine. She prescribed medicine/cream for another skin disorder, without even knowing fully what it was. Very disappointed with my visit and will never return.  Respond

24/11/11 5 3 5 5 I saw dr monson for a problem i have had for over a year. She was so nice and thoughtful and spent the time to properly diagnose and treat my problem. I saw 2 other dermatologists before and they were both completely clueless about my problem and they both spent less than a minute with me. AND I waited for each of them for over an hour. I did wait for around 35 minutes to see her but it was well worth it! I am thrilled my gp sent me to her.  Respond

02/11/11 5 1 3 5 This Dr. Knows her stuff, but lacks in any! bedside manner. Her staff though are amazing! they seem to always be Helping as best they can. I feel bad for them because even though the Dr. is the one who is 1 hour late they will be the ones to deal with the attitude of other patients. Bring it up with the Dr. not the staff.  Respond

14/04/11 4 4 5 5 I can't even describe the feeling I had meeting her for the first time. It was literally my first encounter with a doctor who actually cared about my well being. I almost cried, my family doctor has never shown as much care and concern as this one doctor has in one visit from her. I have so many question marks when it comes to my health and she's the first to actually start addressing them after 9 years. YES the wait can be long but its so worth it. She makes sure everything is dealt with and if you think that waiting for that is unacceptable, then you're not in your right mind. I wish she was a family doctor, I would drive as far as needed to see her.  Respond

05/12/09 5 4 5 5 Really enjoyed my visit, had long wait but worth it. Felt comfortable asking her questions and was able to get appointment with her quickly, saw her at Woodbridge Clinic, and liked the staff there more then her other office. They were great about giving me a reminder call (rare these days). She even called me about results personally. Only clinic I have been too that has a nurse especially assigned to her. VERY busy clinic attached, but no problem with seeing speccialists. Had 3 moles removed, and do not agree with previous comment. Scars were minimal to non-existant, and explained to me that one of them could not be stitched due to location but more importantly no need to administer unecessary freezing. Go to her....easy to book appointmets. Previous Dermatologist took me 6-8 months, she will see you in less then a month, good booking system!...thank you for your help  Respond

23/11/09 4 5 2 4 I went to see Dr.Monson for mole removal and she did remove the moles but mever stitched them up and it left huge scars on me. I received another opinion about these huge scars and was told that they should have been stitched up. So needless to say I will be finding another dermatologist for my irregular moles. Could you imagine having like 15-20 moles removed with huge scares all over your body??????  Respond

21/03/09 5 4 5 5 dr monson finally diagnosed my mom's skin problem (it was a type of cancer) after 2 other dermatologists couldn't figure out what she had. she's a smart doctor and actually helped my mom out (my mom is doing ok now). and she was really nice and kind to her which was what i was most impressed with. my mom really loved her and felt comfortable with her. makes me happy to know that doctors like dr. monson are out there to take care of me when i get old and sick.  Respond

01/06/08 4 4 5 5 She was kind and very thorough-because my skin condition required different treatments in different areas she was careful with her explanation and took her time to make sure I understood. She was professional and friendly and I will go back to her if I need to.  Respond

16/04/08 5 4 5 5 very smart lady. diagnosed a rare skin disorder. all other dermatologist told me it was rosacea and I would have to live with it. Staff nice, attached to a walk-in clinic. My family doctor that referred me forgot to fax referral, saw the office try for 30mins to get referral (my family doctors line is always busy) I was actually lucky to find a dermatologist in Woodbridge, very hard..most ONLY do cosmetic (more money)one of the rare doctors that still does skin disorders. Yes I waited 45-1hour to see her, but you know what?..patients need to stop whinning about waiting. At least you didn't have to drive 1hr to go downtown, and pay for parking...this clinic is amazing ...FREE parking...and huge, and street-level!....she was very exact, but not rude at all. Even took pictures to present to a class she teaches...also...if you ask her and talk to her as a person, she actually has been attending courses to upgrade annually!  Respond

22/03/08 4 1 1 1 She was an hour late. Very distant and cold. Definitely showed a lot of attitude and arrogance. Was not helpful or compassionate towards problem. Did not seem very knowledgeable seeing that she gave many contradicting answers. Could not answer any questions. Rushed the appointment and opened the door signalling to leave while a question was being asked. If you are to see a dermatologist, always get a second opinion from another especially if you are to go to Dr. Monson.  Respond
