This doctor seemed very scatterbrained and liked to go by "feeling" instead of knowledge. She would say stuff like I feel this or I feel that, so I am going to go with feeling. Her feeling never seemed right, especially when it came to medicines. Found a new doctor and will never go back. The office staff are very rude and never call back for days on end. When you call you get an answering machine that says they are busy and their office hours, but they never answer. When they do call back they don't even remember what you called about and forget to answer your questions. Forget getting a call back from the Dr. and the on-call Dr. is a joke. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone with a mental illness.
I saw Dr Lackey for 3 years. At first she thought I had Depression, then ADHD with it, but the meds made me aggressive and the depression didnt stop. Finally got diganosed as Bipolar rapid cycling and got some Lithium which helped some, and some other meds along with that either did little or made things worse. New office can never be reached and takes hours if not days to return calls. Stopped getting courtesy reminders about appointments, missed some, and final straw was an appointment that I supposedly scheduled and missed... the phone number I was given as the one that called wasnt even in service. VERY DISSATISFIED with this type of service... how can this be helpful to someone who is mentally ill?

I was very happy with the care I received from Dr Lackey. She was very down to earth and I didn't feel like a lab rat during my care. She is the smartest psychiatrist i have had in my 15 yrs experience. She never had to look things up and she was knowledgeable on medications. She never pushed the "newer more expensive" meds. I would be still seeing her if I lived in that state. She is a bit on the different side, but still related to me better then any other doctor had. I would recommend her to anyone needing psychiatric care.
The office has gotten better since they got all new receptionists and office employees. They have their stuff together and actually know where stuff goes. Dr. Lackey is friendly, a little different, but doesn't sugar coat things. She has really helped a lot and does not give up. She will ask if you are comfortable with the way she is speaking, standing, sitting, or medicines you might go on. She has always cared that I was comfortable. She is not condescending in anyway and is pretty down to earth.
I found Dr. Lackey seeming rather strange. She used inappropriate language (profanity) during our session. Also, was not engaging in regards to my specific complaint. I was referred to her by my therapist for prescriptions. I would not see her for any other therapeutic purposes.

She's a straight shooter who knows her stuff. Easy script refill process. She's are not therapists so if that's what you're looking for then keep looking.

Once you become a patient she's very difficult to contact. The office very rarely answers the telephone and doesn't return phone calls. Hard to get a prescription refilled, or find out why she doesn't want to refill it. Local pharmacist says this office is hard to deal with.
