I saw Dr. Imershein a few times. She was extremely abrupt, unpleasant, and unhelpful. She did not listen. After I went on the pill, I missed a few periods, and said that I could be pregnant, whereas the extremely helpful nurse explained that she and her daughter had stopped getting periods on loestrin24. In addition, Dr. Imershein's office keeps sending me a bill that I've already paid (once, if not twice). There's a reason why there isn't a wait to get an appointment, people.

Dr. Imershein is wonderful and attentive. She makes annual exams not stressful and listens to your concerns. The only problem is that she only accepts one insurance plan.

Dr Imershein is absolutely fabulous. She has sooo much knowledge to share with you and she is very understanding of even the most embarassing topics. one criticism I have is that she sometimes talks too fast so it is hard to really absorb all of the information that she has to offer. eeven without insurance covering I did visit her. She was also rated best doctor of the year in 2005. excellent!!

I have both good and bad things to say about Dr. Imershein. On the one hand, she's very progressive and nonjudgmental about sexual activity and STDs. I was embarrassed when I had a bad Pap and was diagnosed with HPV infection, but she made me feel at ease about it. Every appointment I had with her, she made sure to talk to me in her office and gave me time for questions. On the other hand, on several occasions she was pretty condescending to me, even laughing off some of my concerns, and even though I saw her every 3 months for more than a year, she never learned my name (called me by my last name). In addition, she repeatedly tried to make me take the pill for my PCOS, despite me repeatedly telling her that I was not interested in taking hormones at that time and that my (endocrine) disorder was being managed by an endocrinologist. Dr. Imershein seemed unwilling to hear my concerns. Also, how can an OB-GYN not know that there are more options besides just pads and tampons?

I think she has major anger management issues. She browbeat me because I didn't know the exact conception date of an unplanned pregnancy. Then she sweetly asked me whether I drank orange juice. When I answered in the affirmative, she told me I really shouldn't because O.J. was nothing more than empty calories, and I didn't want to get too fat, and finally she was angry that I hadn't had an ultrasound (my 4th in 4 months of a healthy pregnancy) by the time of the appt. and she told me (nastily) that now it night be too late to get an abortion if anything was wrong. This was a healthy pregnancy with good amnio results, etc. I told her partner Alan Birnkrant that I would not continue with their practice unless I could be guaranteed no further Dr.-patient contact w/ Imershein. He agreed, but both he and Dr. Imershein characterized her manner as "direct" and her intent one of mere concern for mom and baby. I was not complaining about directness or medical caution. She was abusive.

I received Dr. Imershein through my primary care physician and it was a first time visit. I was very pleased, she made me feel comfortable and was very personable. I would recommend her and plan to return for my next visit. Additionally, Dr. Imershien provided me with updated medical info for my daughers regarding the new HPV vaccine which was helpful in talking with them and last but certainly not least, the staff was organized and friendly as well.

She is the worst doctor I have ever been to. She is always rushed on the phone, though she returns calls promptly, and impatient with questions. She also made very insensitive comments. I would never recommend her.

I LOVE Dr. Imershein. She is very attentive, a great listener, and good counselor. She came highly recommended to me by a friend and I never want to go to another gyno again! I wish she could be my primary care physician. Plus her website is super informative.
