I found Dr. Talati to be unreasonably brusque and unhelpful. I went to her in my early 20's complaining of unwanted side effects from the Pill. The only options she would give me were another pill or dealing with the side effects. Planned Parenthood talked me through the options and inserted the Mirena IUD Dr. Talati refused me. She also denied I could possibly have a thyroid condition causing my weight gain and sounded rather self-congratulatory when she called with my results. An endocrinologist soon after diagnosed me with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, a form of hypothyroidism. I promptly loss 25 lbs once medicated. Her refusal to accept my condition was based solely on my age and lacking constipation. Cold intolerance and intractable weight gain were insignificant to her. Even an OB/GYN should have a basic understanding of this common disorder. Overall I was too uncomfortable seeing her to continue and have completely switched the the very caring Planned Parenthood staff.

Dr. Talati is a wonderful OB/GYN. She's gentle and knowledgeable. I have had a very tough time finding BCP's that work well for me, and she suggested many options, and we found what works best. She's non-judgemental, but won't shy away from the hard truth, even if it isn't "what you want to hear". Her staff can be brusque at times, but she works out of a large group, so I don't know how much input she has regarding the staff. She's told me how to get around them if I need something they aren't willing to help me with, or give me a hard time about. She's great, and worth it even with her sometimes temperamental staff.
