When my daughter suddenly went into status epil. he was the dr on call at Greenville Hosp. with no history of epilepsy nor ever any symptoms, this dr over prescribed ativan until apptmt. ran tests, ( eeg, mri). Never called with results until 4 weeks later. Immediately prescribed meds and diagnosed her. Unfortunately he informed her she would likely die in her early 20's and he didn't know what else to do for her. Fortunately we took her to Emory, where she was CORRECTLY diagnosed and prescribed correct meds. Turns out she has a very rare seizure disorder and is very dangerous to be on wrong meds. She is now thriving and been VERY well treated in Atlanta. He acts as if he is "Christian" from "Nip-Tuck". Rude, uninformed on current treatments & a waste of money.

I am very dissatisfied with this doctor. I went to him with very serious symptoms in which he did a couple of tests that came back "normal". As new symptoms, as well as initial symptoms, kept getting worse, he had no idea what might be causing the problems and seemingly, didn't care. The last time I wasted my time and money for an office visit, he acted very arrogant and smug in his reponses to my questions. I asked him 5 questions and his response to each was, "I don't know". One of the questions was, "Is having facial numbness a normal part of an aging process?" He became very arrogant and uncaring as the questions proceeded. He even told me I could get a 2nd, 3rd or 4th opinion. Obviously, a first, (correct) opinion would have been nice.

Totally out of touch with the "comman" man. I felt like I was wasting his time during each visit. When I was getting a very serious rash from Rebif injections for my RRMS, he did nothing but look unconcerned and said "well the only other thing is Avonex" After calling the Rebif hotline they told me to get my doctor to lower the 44mcg to 22mcg because the higher dose was having a negative effect on me. When I called his office and told them to send in a script for a lower dose, they acted like who was I to question the doctors recommendation. They finally called in a script and the lower dose is work just fine. I researching for a new Neurologist. Someone who will listen and advise accordingly.

Dr. Absher was the neurologist on call at the ER when my husband went there following severe head pain and a brief black out. Not only did the Dr take a personal phone call about his son going to confirmation retreat, but when he found out our daughter was a sports trainer, he got advise from her on how to work out to prepare for his karate belt test in three weeks. Because all my husband's initial tests came back neg for aneurism/stroke, the Dr. did not do additional tests to find out the true cause of the episode and misdiagnosed my husband as having sudden onset migraine and a seziure. He prescribed two meds that could have been potentially harmful, but thank God we didn't fill the prescriptions because they were going to cost us over $150. We have since found out my husband has a fractured vertebra. If Dr. A had spent the exam time focused on my husband and not on his personal life, maybe he would have been able to get my husband the treatment he required.

I have a very rare migraine disorder of which there is not a lot known and in my case it is very resistant to treatment. His demeanor was arogant and you left with a sense that he didn't really listen to a word you said. He overmedicated me with drugs contraindicated for my condition. This could have caused stroke, coma or death. I have stroke-like symtoms on my right side and speech problems with my migraines. It always developes from slurred speech to a french sounding accent...I typically have a southern accent. He always asked why I talked that way...I told him I don't know but I thought he should. My late father also saw him. He got the same less than adequte care...he had had mini strokes followed by an MRI at Dad's pleeding. His strokes went undiagnosed until he had a more severe one and saw a different doctor...the one I see now. My husband also had a negative experience after his stroke. It took 6 months get his MRI and other test results to the vascular surgeon for surgery.

He as someone has already saided acted as if I was a waste of his time. I switched to him and this was my first visit and he was not even prepared for the visit. He is not friendly and had this smirk on his face if you asked him a question.

This doctor needs to listen to the needs of his patients. Arrogant, would not recommend test for alzheimers, gave antiquated test that prime care physician had already gave. House Calls for you Doc as far as I am concerned.

Very hurried on all three ocassions. He acted like he was too good to deal with any of my questions or situation. Said I could see his assistant next time. Smart toned with myself and his staff.
