I had upper eyelid blep and lower eye CO2 laser as well as a 'lip lift' as he is one of a 'handful' of surgeons that actually do that procedure. His skill and creativity are truly remarkable. He teaches all over the world and has invented and does techniques that are unique to him. I am planning on returning to him for more work....I came from Florida and the whole experience was amazing. His work is SO NATURAL....no one knew I had anything done....even though at 47 he gave me the eyes I had when I was 25. He has such passion for what he does....and he treats every single face differently...'designing' what is 'perfect' for the patients, wants...needs and face. His staff and facilities are impeccable and he and his staff were always able to answer my pre-op and post-op questions and if I didn't understand something they made sure I was clear on it. I had a severely gaunt appearance and looked about 10 years older than my actual age. I'm 47. I looked sickly and felt very self-conscious about my appearance but with just one syringe of Radiesse, Dr. Niamtu was able to plump up my cheeks (mid-face area) and erase all signs of my ailing condition. For the first time in over 25 years (I first tested positive in 1986) I now have plump, perfectly sculpted cheeks. The transformation was really amazing! Dr. Niamtu is so much more than a cosmetic surgeon, he's also an artist and for me personally, a miracle worker! His nurses and staff are really wonderful too! In 2001 I had installed a chin implant with a plastic surgeon in Puerto Rico and in 2006, it shifted, causing lots of pain. I went to my plastic surgeon but he rebuffed me saying that there was nothing he could do except remove it, wait a few years and then try again. I knew that the implant had caused my bone to erode and that it was going to look awful when I would remove it. I was frantic about finding a good plastic surgeon for about a year when I stumbled on Dr. Niamtu's website. I e-mailed him and he understood exactly what I was going through. He initially wanted to just remove the old one and install a new one, but upon seeing the damage that the first implant had caused, he asked if I would be ok with another procedure that would fix the bone erosion, while preserving the good image of the old implant - bone grafting. It's been 5 years since the procedure, I have no pain whatsoever in my chin, and I never have to worry about implants again since I don't have one anymore.

I was first impressed with Dr. Niamtu over 20 years ago when I was a patient of his. In the years since, I've heard his name, read articles and seen the results of his exceptional work more times than I can remember. When my 13 yr old son, with autism, developed a facial mole that was rapidly growing, I knew Dr. Niamtu was the only doctor I'd allow touch his beautiful face. I scheduled a consultation to find out the cost of the procedure that I'd read about. Dr. Niamtu was so gentle with my son and explained the procedure. It was at that moment I saw the heart of this doctor. He said to me he would perform the surgery now and it would be at 'no charge'. I was so overwhelmed that tears ran down my face. The procedure was successfully completed as I observed and the mole which my son had become so self-concsious about is gone! I would recommend him to anyone! | Respond |

I really had no expectations, but I had wanted my eyes done for a long time and I also had a lot of small cysts on my face that I wanted taken care of. Dr. Niamtu's procedures were performed in his office and it took about 90 minutes. I am so thrilled with the outcome it is almost impossible to put into words. I went to see a family member about 3 months after I had the procedures done, and she stared at me for 5 minutes and didn't say anything. She was truly amazed at the difference in my appearance. It was a subtle difference, but 1000% better. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I actually looked forward to my follow up visits. We were so worried that he would have a very large scare on his face at such an early age. Dr. Niamtu knows his business and kept Michael's mom informed and reassured her that his injury would be taken care of. Dr. Niamtu has made time for us on short notice. Of course my 10 year old re-injured the original injury while playing. We called the office and they worked us in to make sure everything was healing properly. It is nice to know the doctor cares. I continue to fly back to Richmond every time I need anything done because I ONLY trust him with my face. He has always been honest with me and guided me when I needed help making decisions about my skin and face. When I'm not sure what I need done, he helps me. I don't know how many times I've gone to see him and told him I wanted something done and he would tell me that I didn't need it yet. I love that he cares so much about his patients and their well-being. He is available by phone or email if you need him unlike most physicians that hide behind their staff. He wants to hear from you, and he has even contacted me after procedures to make sure everything is okay. I won't let anyone else touch my face but him EVER! I have had (and continue to go to) for botox, lip injections, cheek implants, and laser scar removal among other thing, he and his staff are the most professional, helpful and make me feel extremely comfortable and cared about. I am a hairstylist and see many clients a day and have referred multiple people to him for facial work as he simply is the best. I would not trust anyone else to do anything to my face but him and dread the day he retires and I have to find someone else. No other doctor out there ( and I have tried others but always come back) knows the face like him. His skill and eye for detail just surpasses all. I went to see Dr. Niamtu for the first time in 2011 after a friend of mine referred him and I was simply impressed with his personality, office and results. He removed the mole and it healed beautifully and I am so happy with the result. I recently returned for a second mole biopsy and removal. The staff is great and friendly and the waiting time is reasonable. The surgery was painless and fast. I felt comfortable all the time as Dr. Niamtu was communicating with me, everything he was doing. Besides his result, I also appreciate his charitable and volunteer community involvement. As I became educated on the information, I knew I wanted the most experienced and knowledgeable doctor to perform the procedures. I chose to have a complete renovation-face and brow lift, eyes, chin, and laser so that all parts of my face would match and look rejuvenated. I am very pleased with the result. I still look like myself, but a younger version. Friends say it took 10 years off. I was worried that doing so much work would "scream" plastic surgery, but Dr. Niamtu is a pro and made sure that the effect whispers. Dr. Niamtu is a perfectionist, making sure everything is just right. He is also highly responsive. Early in my recovery I became worried about something and he responded to my email himself and opened the office on a Saturday to see just me. It turned out to be nothing but I appeciated his taking the time to see me and his concern for his patients. 2/28/12 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | My name is Danny Teodorescu and I saw some unusual posts about Dr. Niamtu. One of these posts had the nerve to say that he is “only out for the money” and is a predator. I am a citizen of Romania and was in this country working to save money. While working, I was robbed, shot and left for dead. When I awoke in the ICU, I had no insurance and had no one to help me. A total stranger by the name of Dr. Niamtu came to visit me and told me he would treat my injuries free of charge. I had a bigger problem as I was being discharged and had no place to live. Dr. Niamtu and his wife took me in their home and provided me with free nursing care and free surgical care. I lived with them free of charge for an extended time. During the time I stayed with Dr. Niamtu, I also witnessed him care for numerous patients that had injuries or special needs and could not afford surgery. He said the implant would tighten some of the loose skin and make my nose look more proportioned. Well it didnt do any of those things and now im left with a foreign object in my face, no feeling in my bottom lip and more loose skin than ever before. I look terrible. This is after he said he gave me a deal and his assistant said" What did you expect?" Can you believe that! Anywho he has his staff trained to lie to patients that they look great especially his coordinator who walks up and says "looks very good" and walks off like a programmed robot. For serious cosmetic work i would not goto him at all, he might be good for botox or chemical peels. My friend is a dentist assistant and says her employer said he, Niamtu is overrated and not very good. I thought he was jealous of Niamtu, but now i know he was right and I have to pay the price... This left me with a 1.5 inch gash between my eyebrows that required 6 sutures to close. I took a bus to Virginia for a consult with Dr. Niamtu because I wanted the scar removed. What happened next was beyond anything I had ever expected: he offered to do a CO2 laser surfacing procedure free of charge. I wrote him the following letter afterwards: “Dear Dr. Niamtu, What you did earlier today was the nicest and most generous thing anyone has ever done for me, and I am truly grateful. The months following the incident was a very hard time for me. I felt that the world had betrayed me, that despite my best efforts to be a good person, there was so much that was beyond my control and an unfortunate incident is just as likely to happen to an undeserving person as it can to a bad person. When I initially emailed him it didn't go into a black hole, he actually responded within 24 hrs with specific answers, not a generic reply from his assistant directing me to schedule a consultation. I drove three hours for a procedure and a consultation and it was well worth it. He was warm and attentive. I called my old doctor to have my records sent over and his staff had already contacted the doctor to get everything started. The most impressive part of our meeting was that he was able to accurately assess and caution me about a procedure he does NOT perform, something an oral surgeon specializing in this procedure had not caught. Thank goodness I met with Dr. Niamtu first. His patience and his willingness to listen to my overall needs saved me an expensive consultation fee with a surgeon in NYC. Dr Niamtu performed a face and neck lift with laser resurfacing on my daughter at my recommendation. As a doctor who specializes in cosmetic medicine I was privileged to watch him perform the procedure. I was extremely impressed by the excellent theater staff and the time and detail they went into in preparing my daughter for the surgery. In observing the actual performance of the surgery it was apparent that Dr Niamtu is a perfectionist. He performed each step to perfection before moving on to the next step. Closure and wound tension is critical in face lift surgery and it was here that Dr Niamtu's skill really stood out. There was no rush to complete the surgery but rather a steady, precise attention to every detail of the closure until the finished result was "perfect". I recommended Dr Niamtu to my daughter and the excellent result she has obtained is the only testimony I need to his outstanding ability as a facial cosmetic surgeon.

He only works on faces, and has done literally thousands. Staff, bedside manner, all that was great, but when it comes to my face the only thing I really cared about was that he knew what he was doing. Bottom line... I couldn't be happier with the result. Instead, the same old scars are still there (though not QUITE as bad) and the veins that I paid to have removed are still there as well, and the doctor refused refund for that part. (450.00) I do not recommend him. He also takes only about 5 minutes per person as if they were cattle. The staff has been trained well to seem polite yet they can't seem to get a simple name correct. There's a specific spot for "nickname" on the registry sheet. Don't bother using it. They don't. Niamtu is great at marketing to bring the cattle in, he knows what he is doing, however he fails to deliver WHAT IS PROMISED OR EXPLAINED PRE-OP. | See Responses |

I have been seeing him for a little over 3 yrs for different things.I am from out of town. There are plenty of doctors in my area but none like Dr. Niamtu. His facility, to me is the same cleanliness as a hospital and I think I would rather not be in a hospital anyway. His center is safe and the staff has always been right there for me.He follows up with you after surgery, the staff also calls. It was a great experience and I am going to have another procedure with him in a couple of weeks. Great with Botox...no dropping eyelids. I highly recommend him.Go check him out. I find it hard to recommend Dr. Niamtu. Had a chin implant but he didn't seem like he listened to my concerns. He's very busy, he admits, but it seemed he was more concerned with getting his latest publication out and had too many visiting physicians in his office.

I researched Richmond area cosmetic surgeons at length and talked with as many people as I could. Dr. Niamtu's name emerged consistently as the top guy, so I went with him and I am thrilled with my procedure. He is extremely talented and is the cosmetic surgeon of the 'who's who of Richmond.' I figure if they trust him I could. I was right in my decision. I read the other posts. I didn't time the before or after consult, but I know he answered all of my questions. (and I had a ton of them...I don't like pain and I am a real weenie here). I saw everything in his surgery center that I see in a hospital...it is a clean and professional office. My only 2 complaints (again--trying to be fair here) I had to wait a bit long at my first visit, as his wait room was full. Also, parking was tight at that first visit. | Respond |

Whenever i go in I take my 15 month old with me as I am new to the area and won't ;eave her with just anyone.He and his staff have never had a problem with that.He preformed multiple procedures,cheek implants,brow lift,upper blep.,and face lift along with lasering under my eyes.This was done Nov 6th and while the first few days were rough I already can tell that I will love my "new"look,I truly will look 10-15 years younger once the bruising and swelling go away.Never an issue getting a nurse or the doctor on the phone which is nice and he gives you his cell number! I did buccal fat removal and chin implant. I flew all the way from Miami to Virginia to have surgery with him. He is good at responding with your e-mail, so his in-person consultation was short, which made sense because we discussed everything on over e-mails. Ginger, one of his office assistant, helped me find a local nurse so I can recuperate. My overall experience was positive. Nothing negative to say. :)

Dr Niamtu is one of the most compassionate, knowledgeable Dr's you will ever find. After having facial surgery with a well known Richmond Dr.a friend recomended,I ended up with scars and facial discoloration and looking hidious for 6 months. This Dr. blamed me, did not know how to fix it and seemed to care less. I went to Dr Niamtu for something else, he immediately took action, give me some shots and prescribed a cream. He will do what looks the most natural for you and his staff is quick to put you at ease. I have been to other 'premier' cosmetic groups in town and have left unhappy.
