I have had several positive experiences with Dr. Laakmann. About 5 years ago he provided me with orthotics and was very attentive and detailed throughout this process, including some adjustments a couple of years later when there was a change to my feet. About 1 year ago I had a rather complicated surgery on one of my feet that ended up taking about 5 hours. Dr. Laakmann was very careful and took extra time to make small stitches so as to minimize potentially bad scarring due to a skin condition I have. There were a number of follow up visits to remove dressings and pins and examine follow up x-rays. Dr. Laakmann was always on time and listened patiently to and addressed all my concerns. I was very nervous about the surgery and he made me feel very comfortable and confident in his ability. My foot turned out wonderfully. I had very little pain and no complications due to the surgery. His staff is also very exceptional, sensitive and caring. I would highly recommend him.
I owe a lot to Dr. Laakman. He was able to diagnose my chronic, life-altering mysterious foot pain as pinched nerves and Raynauds when two other podiatrists and two GPs didn't know what was wrong with my feet. While one other podiatrist had the nerve to suggest that the pain was all in my head, Dr. Laakman listened to me, asked thoughtful questions, and most of all, was gentle enough and patient enough to win my trust to allow him to touch and manipulate my feet. Plus, his office had carpeting, so it was more comfortable on bare feet. I have been meaning to write Dr. Laakman and thank him for his help. But hopefully he will find this and know that he comes highly recommended.
