Very helpful, has been treating me since I was a teenager. She may not be warm and fuzzy, but has never doubted my self-reporting of symptoms like many doctors do. Very knowledgeable. Recommended.

I was concerned after reading some of the comments, but found this doctor to be extremely attentive, polite, informative and compassionate. Recommended by 2 of my other doctors who felt I needed to see a rheumatologist, she explained everything in detail and listened to me with direct eye contact, I never felt rushed. Very knowledgeable about Lyme & related arthritic conditions. She confirmed that my Lyme was no longer active and it was safe to treat another condition triggered by the Lyme. She returned phone calls when promised and is following a conservative treatment plan that is getting results & showed me exercises that I could do at home to increase mobility, which are helping. I find it hard to believe some of the comments because my experience was so positive. Perhaps because this doctor doesn't present as cheery and outgoing, but more serious/stern, people could get the wrong impression? I related very well to her, felt it worth the bucks. Wish she took insurance! The best!

The office did have a musty smell - small and a little old-fashioned. In a big old house on ground floor. I was called due to a cancellation and I went right in. I went for Lyme diagnosis. Dr was polite, asked me all my symptoms, then explained the disease, symptoms, then asked if I had any ?s and she examined me. She did not rush me and was very knowledgeable. I amwaiting for blood work results to see what happens next, but I would go back. Blood work will be submitted to insurance so I didnt have to pay that today. They only accept cash or check - no credit and no insurance. Most LLMDs seem to work this way. I am happy to find her as I live in town and it is convenient and she is supposed to be one of the best. I will post again once I see how the bloodwork comes back and if I in fact have lyme.

Rock Star. Perhaps they got the feedback or perhaps went thru a rough spell with too many patients not enough time, but I had the best experience with this doctor. I brought my 84 year old father to see her and she treated him as if he were the only patient she would ever have. She listened, was compassionate, just did an awesome and complete job. Most doctors I take my 84 year old father to just roll their eyes, but she was an absolute compassionate professional - probably the best doctor's appointment we havve had. She is a Rock Star.

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde - diagnosed my Lyme and got me on appropriate treatment, but was EXTREMELY rude, arrogant, condescending, liked to listen to herself (but wouldn't listen to me). I ultimately had to change doctors because of her nasty attitude and lack of compassion.

I was diagnosed incorrectly. I spent a year getting worse, not better. Dr. Gaito told me it would take time. After one year, I went to a specialist in NYC, for a second opinion, who correctly diagnosed me, took me off the medication Dr. Gaito prescribed, and I have been slowly improving over time. Now I have much of my movement back and I am in much less pain. Her treatment did not work at all for me. I continued to get worse, reported it to her, and nothing change in her treatment for me. I feel I lost a year and 1/2 of my life. I stayed with her as long as I did because she came so highly rated. I was so wrong! It was always a one way conversation, she talking to me. When I stopped going abruptly, I never even received a follow up call to check on me, see if I was alright, etc. I had been seeing her every six weeks!

Rude, unhelpful, and self inflated. Dr. Gaito lacks compassion and seems to have her own problems relating with people. would never consider listening to a patients suggestions. Came to realize she is not as knowledgable as thought. Didn't want to hear you if the medication wasn't working. Found a doctor with a better rating that really knows his stuff and is kind and compassionate.

After all I've heard about Dr. Gaito I was hoping to meet with a doctor who was not only knowledgeable but would show some degree of empathy towards what I was going through. After waiting and waiting for an appointment, I was faced with the absolute most inconsiderate person I have ever met in my entire life. Although she knew her stuff when it came to lymes, she was more interested in hearing herself talk and boasting of her credentials. If you don't fit the mold of HER ideal lymes patient she will refuse to further treat you WITHOUT warning. Her staff members are also rude and unhelpful. If you're ideal doctor is that of an ice queen, she's the one for you. I will never recommend her to anyone. Her prices along with her ego are outrageous.

As long as you are improving on "her " time line, she will tolerate you. She is pompous, condecending, and has an EGO that fills the room. I think she knows about Lymes disease, but she isn't God!! If you don't fit her mold, she'll drop you like a hot potato. She is cold and self centered. Probably the worst experience I've ever had with any medical professional.

Very knowledgeable, very professional, very informative at each step of diagnosis and treatment. Refusal to accept insurance means significant out of pocket expense. For me, it's well worth it, but still a bit of a nuisance.

I found Dr. Gaito to be very knowledgeable, professional, kind and understanding. Dr. Gaito finally diagnosed me with neuropsychiatric LD after 17 years of being told by numerous doctors, including infectious disease specialists, to see a psychiatrist. I was found to have demyelination in my brain and neurologists immediately labeled me as having MS because of the similar effects/symptoms caused by LD. Dr. Gaito explained how the LD had affected my brain and took the time to draw illustrations and answer all my questions. I had 12 weeks of IV antibiotics and am now on oral antibiotics. The improvements did not happen overnight and I have been told that healing will continue for another 6-9 months but I am now able to return to work after six months and feel "normal" for the first time in years. I have energy, my moods have improved, my memory is improving and I am reclaiming my life. I don't know where I would be without the care of Dr. Gaito and highly recommend her.

Outstanding doctor! I never have to wait in her office for more the 5 minutes before an appointment (unlike another Lyme Dr where I had waited for up to 2 hours). She never rushes the appointments, answers all of my questions, asks very specific questions as to how I am feeling, her staff has always been very helpful when I have called in between appointments with question, concerns or refills when necessary. She came highly recommended by my first Lyme specialist who no longer treats Chronic Lyme and after the first visit I was impressed and immediately put at ease. Well worth the money spent.

Dr. Gaito is an excellent clinician. In comparison to the four doctors that I had seen previously in regard to lyme symptoms, Dr. Gaito is the most direct, informative, well versed and helpful doctor I have seen. In addition, she was kind enough to immediately refer me to an excellent doctor to treat a second condition.

She doesn't have the most friendly staff.....but she is the best Dr. I have ever gone to and I had been to many about Lyme Disease. I am a teacher and live in Sussex County and made many a trip to see her. It took quite a long time, but she was patient, understanding, and explained everything to the point of drawing pictures. I have returned from time to time when bitten by a new tick. Fortunately I continue to be in good health. I went undx with lyme for about three years before finding Dr. Gaito. She even saved my life when a Hospital released me with a Blood Infection. She had me admitted to another Hospital immediately....I was there for quite a few days until the infection was eliminated. I owe her my life. She is a wonderful, caring, Dr. and worth every cent!!!!!!

Wasted my money. Not helpful in diagnosing problem. She said "it's not Lyme" but would not offer an opinion unless I returned for a second office visit. I think $450 for an office deserves more imput from this Doc, not to mention the $850 in "special lab" blood work. Waste of time and money

If a physician does not take insurance, be very careful. She talks a good talk, but didn't really have much to say when I thought about it. Unless you are a text book variety patient and you don't have have a mind of your own, and you want to spend a lot of your own money I wouldn't bother. There are plenty of decent doctors around.

I've been going here for at least 8 years for recurring Lyme Disease and have just decided to stop seeing Dr. Gaito. She's gotten increasingly busy, less personable, less helpful, and she was never that friendly. Basically she's not interested in helping unless you are an open-and-shut textbook case. Talks constantly. Asks lots of questions but never says ANYTHING else -- what do my symptoms mean? What's going on? All she's ever done are blood tests and then tells me to call in for the results and leaves the room promptly, to the tune of $180+. Not that helpful, as evidenced by my 6th recurrance of the disease. She came highly recommended but I'd rather go to someone less recommended who will actually treat me like a person and HELP ME.

Not worth the trip. The atmosphere in the office was very uncomfortable and unfriendly. While the doctor came highly reccomended I found her to be highly disappointing. She likes to hear herself talk but doesn't seem to want to listen, lacks empathy and way over priced. Went once and that was too much. Save yourself time and money and find another doctor.

She is a wonderful doctor who finally was able to help with my Lyme Disease. I asked why she doens't accept insurance and her response was that she did not want to be at the mercy of insurance companies and could treat me in the way that was best for me. I submitted the bills to the insurance company and was re-imbursed. I have total trust in Dr. Gaito.

Let me just start by saying this dr saved my life. I am 25 yrs old and became deathly ill at 21. She was the only one to beleive me that infact I was truly ill. She never gave up on me even though I relapsed with lyme 3 times. If it wasn't for her I would have given up. Because of her I have another chance at a normal life. If you read this dr G. Thank you more than words can ever say. E.D.

She comes across as smart but cold as ice. And even though she talks a lot, there's a lack of real, useful information conveyed. If you can deal with a condescending attitude and don't need to know things like what side effects to expect, she's probably reasonably competent. I won't be going back.

She confirmed my suspicions by diagnosing Lyme Disease, and put me on a treatment program that helped. I believer she is a good clinician. However, she failed to inform me of the possible severe side effects of the medication, which resulted in my having to have surgery. Even worse, in my experience, her "bedside manner" was extremely poor - by far the worst I have ever experienced. She did not make herself available when I needed her the most, despite repeated phone calls and was extraordinarily rude. I would not recommend her to anyone.

As far as I'm concerned, she saved my life. I was ready to put a gun to my head because I was depressed, had severe memory loss and inability to focus and concentrate as well as having severe pulling pain in all the ball joints in my body. She diagnosed Lymes and treated me for almost a year with various antibiotics which she continued until genetic testing showed no traces of spirochetes. She's the BEST!
