Gall Bladder surgery 2 weeks ago. very little pain post surgery, didn't need the heavy pain meds at all. Dr Smith was friendly and very professional as was the entire staff!
Umbilical Hernia Surgery in 3/2017. The surgery exceeded my expectations! The post surgery appearance is remarkable! It's been a week and it almost feels like I had no surgery. I have to hold myself back from over doing physical things...
I went to see this Dr. Smith for a surgery consultation. Staff was slow and projected incompetency. While in the waiting room his front desk called another Dr Office and apologized for giving wrong patient information. I realize these things happen but it should be a call that is made in private. Not one that a new patient should hear. Dr Smith seemed tired and bored. He was polite and but didn't instill confidence.
I had surgery by Doctor Smith due to gall bladder blockage. Dr. Smith showed up 2hrs late for the surgery (as I laid on a stretcher in the or area) DR Smith found it amusing that he was late and still didn't take me into the or for another 15 min. The stitches in my stomach opened up and I had a gaping hole. I told him about it on my 10 day foloup appt and he barely even glanced at it and sd put neosporin and a bandaid on it. Thank God I had an appt the next day with my primary care doctor and she looked at it and sd that even though it had been 11 days she had to sew it up and it was infected. I went back to my primary care doctor and had to be referred to a skin specialist for care because the skin had become too fragile to hold a stitch. Not once did Dr Smith show one ounce of concern. I also received a bill from his billing company for the surgery amt due. The ins company turned down the payment due to incorrect coding from DR. Smith or his staff. I left several msg's to the billing company and never got a call back. i called Karen at his office and tried to explain what the issue was and why it wasn't being paid. Karen said fax it to me and I will look at it. I explained that I didn't have a fax and she sd ok mail it to me or bring it in I really don't care how you get it here....Professionalism thru and thru with the Dr and his staff! I would never, ever go to this doctor unless he really was the last doctor on earth ad I would still be worried.
Dr smith performed hernia surgery on me in June of 2013. I suffered chronic pain for over a year before finding a competent surgeon to help me. Dr smith was no help. Dr Madina performed my second surgery and he found that the mesh was put in like an accordion and there were two nerves trapped in the mesh. This man cost me a year of pain and 20 grand in bills and lost wages. Do not let this guy near you with a scalpel.
This doctor saved my life. His bedside manner was most professional and he explained things so that I knew what was going on. His office staff was most helpful in setting up appointments, scheduling surgery and in returning my calls. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.
I did not choose this doctor. I was diagnosed with appendicitis and my primary care physician (PCP) scheduled my surgery with Dr. Smith. Since surgery I'm still experiencing pain and have gone back to see him several times and each time I left there feeling disappointed due to lack of explanation and action. He had horrible bed side manner during the last visit and I've decided it was the last time I would go back. While I was waiting another patient walked out! His office staff is also very unprofessional. The receptionist schedules appointments for surgery and was reading other patients SSN out loud on the phone so all those sitting in the waiting area could hear this information. I find this practice unacceptable!
I would go to this gentleman without question. He knows his practice and you are confident with his surgery.
We lucked into finding Dr. Smith with my son's emergency appendectomy. Every nurse in the hospital must have stopped by to tell me that my son was in good hands. That's how you REALLY know; listen to the nurses. Subsequently, I've had a procedure in the hospital and I've had Dr. Smith advise AGAINST a procedure and take a "wait and see" approach. He's clearly not in it for the money and he was right with his advice. The last time I consulted him on a condition, he said "well, let's see!" He used his in-office ultrasound to confirm the ultrasound I had brought with me, then he said he could fix it. Right there; right then. I just can't say enough good things about Dr. Edwin Smith and highly recommend him to anyone for any general surgical procedure.
Dr. Smith did a wonderful job. He handled my surgery with remarkable skill and expertise. The surgery went perfect and his bedside manner was caring and considerate. I would recommend him to any of my family or friends.
