:( Click to report rating    3/8/10 1 1 1 Have been a nurse for 10 years and have never seen an MD with a worse bedside manor. When my new MD sent a request for my records they called and said I should come back to them instead. They even tried to bribe me with narcotics. They then offered to repeat the injections for free stating he "feels bad" about his behavior but "sometimes the great ones are hard to get along with." Seriously?

:) Click to report rating    12/7/09 5 5 5 I had a great experience at IPPMC. Nurses were very friendly. I have to thank Dr K for treating my pain. The pain was reduced by 80% in my second visit which is hard to believe. I went to few clinics in Minnesota but they couldn't cure my pain. I came to know about IPPMC from a friend and she too had a amazing experience in IPPMC. I recommend people suffering from paint to see Dr. K.

:) Click to report rating    12/7/09 5 5 5 This is the best place I have been for pain. I went to couple different places in St. Cloud. But never got better. IPPMC has become a memorable place for me since I got relief from the pain that I was facing from last 5 years.

:( Click to report rating    11/25/09 1 1 1 This doctor's services are extremely expensive and he even made the comment to me that he makes his money on procedures so unless I was "interested in getting a procedure done" that may or may not have helped my condition he wasn't really interested in working with me. I waited over 60 minutes to see him each time I was there and he never appologized. I have found alternative treatments to be more helpful and enjoy my weekly chiroprator appointments that have helped my neck pain tremendously. I am no longer on pain medication thanks to my alternative treatments and not this doctor who said he would continue to prescribe pain medications as long as I agreed to have certain procedures done.

:( Click to report rating    11/15/09 1 1 1 I agree that the positive reviews must be written by the doctor since Dr. K is the only one who views himself as being perfect. After 5 years of horrible reviews, you suddenly do not become a perfect doctor. Since I recently started working at Centracare, I can tell you that no doctors at this practice will ever refer to Dr. K. due to his repuation in the medical community. While I was treated there several months ago, I waited almost an hour for each of my 3 appointments. During this time, I spoke with other patients in the lobby who had similar bad experiences with the doctor, his practice and staff. Once while waiting in one of the patient rooms, I overheard Dr. Kowalkowski belittling one of his nurses, calling them "stupid" and saying that he could do their job better than they could. There was also a baby that was crying in his office (next to my patient room) during my entire 50-minute wait, whichhe said was his. Needless to say that was my last visit to that clinic.

:) Click to report rating    11/15/09 4 3 5 I have not had the problems that are reported on here. I am thankful I found Dr. K. My goal is to be OFF pain meds that other doctors have prescribed to me for years. Other doctors think I'm making up the pain. The pain is very real and after countless doctors, chiropractors, pills after pills, nothing has helped me the way this clinic has. Thank you IPPMC.

:( Click to report rating    11/13/09 1 1 1 This is the WORST experince EVER!!! i went in for neck and arm pain in september. The wait time was 45 minutes, greeted me with a "fist bump"...really??? Then 5 minutes into exam...he was called out by the nurse, and did not return for 35 minutes!!! After a 5 minute exam, he decide I needed an neck injection the same day!!! 5 Minutes!!!! Never even looking at my MRI!!! I am a thin guy and have some "man boobs"...which I work on at the gym and am very selfconsious of...He Pointed it out rudely to me. He did point injections on a friday, we were leaving on vacation...called from Texas and asked for something for the pain until we got back....He REFUSED to give me anything for the pain...I had to go to the ER to get pain med!!! Did a neck injection the following week and he was very RUDE...I was put under for the injection, when I came to...They were yelling at me telling me I was rude, while I was out!!! Everyone was rude...I would NEVER recommend this DR or office.

:(      11/7/09 1 1 1 Hmmm, I think it's very odd Dr. Kowalksowski all of a sudden has had such positive reviews in October that are verbatium from those on his website considering he has and continues to have one of the worst physician reputations in Minnesota. My experience has been similar to many with the recommendations for unnecessary procedures, ridiculously long waits and a doctor and nurse with an attitude problem that happen to be husband and wife and the owners of the clinic. What was really ironic was that Dr. K had the nerve to ask me if I would give a testimonial but only if it was going to be favorable. Needless to say if you track the IP addresses of the positive reviews, I think you will find they have all come from the owners of IPPMC and not the patients.

:) Click to report rating    10/22/09 5 5 5 I came to IPPMC with upper back and neck pain. After two visits with Dr. Kowalkowski along with physical therapy and trigger point injections, I received 90\% improvement from my symptoms. I was able to increase from part time to full time work. The staff has been exceptional.

:) Click to report rating    10/16/09 5 5 5 I have had lower back pain for a number of years but it became more severe in September of 2008. I did physical therapy for approximately five months and once I stopped that therapy it came back immediately. At that time I was ready to do surgery and have it taken care of. I was referred to IPPMC from my physical therapist. Dr. Kowalkowski performed some diagnostic and therapeutic injections to determine where my pain was coming from and I had severe pain when I presented and today I feel great! I have resumed activities with my children. I can handle my job with minimal pain and discomfort. It has been over a year and half since I felt this good. He was able to identify where my pain is. I understand that symptoms may come back but I am confident that with further treatments at IPPMC I can remain surgery free.

:) Click to report rating    10/11/09 5 5 5 I suffer from low back pain. I was referred to Dr. Kowalkowski by my Primary Care Physician at CentraCare. He recommeded I see a pain specialist. I am very grateful for Dr. K's care. He did an injection on my lower back and my pain is gone. Dr. K was thorough and accurate in his diagnosis and treatment. The nursing staff was knowledgeable and made sure I understanded what was going on. I felt that the amount of time I spent in the office was the right amount. I am happy they were able to treat me the same day. I would highly recommed Dr. Kowalkowski to anyone suffering from pain. He was very personable and listened when I was telling my story.

:( Click to report rating    8/24/09 1 1 1 This doctor was almost an hour late for all of my appointments and didn't ever apologize. He was rude and short with me and after 5 visits there was no improvement in my hip pain for which I was originally seen. They have a nice facility, but they seem to think that it allows them to be late for appointments and not treat the pain. He also asked if I would give a testimonial for his website and when I said that I would have to mention the fact that he was so late at every appointment and that my hip pain was not improving, he said he would rather I leave that part out, so I refused. I now go somewhere else and am very happy.

:( Click to report rating    8/21/09 1 1 1 Doctor Kowalkowski is terrible with his patients in terms of promptness, attentiveness, and diagnosis. He acts like he is a God to Pain Management. I came in for shoulder pain for.My wait to see the doctor was about 2 hours and my total appointment time was 3 hours. I was recommended to have a low back injection. It was also recommended that I have a simulator in my low back implanted when I only complained of shoulder pain, so why would I want to have a low back stimulator? He also called me a "baby" during my injection when I winced. The low back injection did nothing for my shoulder pain. His wife is also the head nurse and is equally rude and rolled her eyes at me when I told her how long I had been waiting. I would highly recommend MAPS (Minneapolis) or Center for Pain Management in Sartell. I've been to both since this experience and they are filled with wonderful medical professionals.

:( Click to report rating    7/16/09 1 1 1 Dr. Kowalkowski is an arogant ass. I can honestly say that I have never been treated worse in a medical facility. After listening to him tell me how wonderful he is and how no other doctor knows no where near as much as he does I was a little sucked in to his treatment program. Afterall how can someone be so confident and arrogant and not have any idea what they are doing. I was treated there over 3 years ago and this still stands out as poorest health decision I have ever made. I was looking to find the cause of my pain and fix it which he and his nurse (also his wife) told me they could do. But in typical medical doctor fashion they began to prescribe pills and injections which I had already tried many times and had not worked but keep in mind he is better than all other doctors. Nevertheless he failed to do what he was so certain he could do. After several lenghty visits I left there with a lighter wallet and more pain than i started with. Dont see him seek out some other treatment

:(      4/6/09 1 1 1 The service was so poor that I never made it past the nurse that enters patient info into the computer b4 you see the doctor. She was inconsiderate, did not listen and rude. After trying to work with her for almost 2 hours I walked out and she laughed at me. I am suprised that this place is even in business. When I finally walked out it was an hour and a half past when my appointment was to take place. I have never been in a medical clinic let alone one that is supose to specialize in chronic pain where the staff was this unprofessional and rude. I also believe that they lied to me and still have copies of medical records that I brought in. Whe I went back in to get those records the nurse still had a smerk on her face. This place rates less than a zero and at least the nurse that met with me should not have a job.

:| Click to report rating    5/9/08 1 1 1 Worst place I've been to in 20 years of medical treatment. Staff are slow and no info is shared regarding wait times. Dr. is always side tracked and unapproachable.

:) Click to report rating    5/2/08 2 1 5 Office help very slow and unorganized.Nurse very good and helpful.Dr.K had an additude, I'm the best and has a personality problem. But I do think he is a good doctor and knows his stuff , when it comes to pain management. My procedures went will and have been helpful. I would recomend him to my friends, but I would tell them to allow at least 2.5 hours for a normal office visit.

:( Click to report rating    8/21/07 5 2 1 Dr. Kowalkowski was very rude & arrogant. He did not take the time to listen and would interrupt me when I was trying to explain something. I went in there regarding fibromyalgia and everytime I brought it up he would dismiss it rudely & talk about my back problems which I was not there to see him about at all. He ended up doing a Lumbar Medial Branch Block on my lower back & when he started putting the needles in my back I cried out in pain and tears flowed uncontrollably. He never warned me before putting any one of the 6 needles in my back, infact the only thing he said during the procedure when I cried out in pain was.."Settle down and relax", & he said it in a very short, rude & impatient tone. After the procedure I told the nurse I wanted to speak with him about something, she came back with the answer but he wouldn't come back in and see me. Dr.s dealing with pain management should understand none of us ask for this pain & do not deserve a dr who acts annoyed that we are there.
