:( Click to report rating    5/22/09 3 1 1 Watch the smoke and mirrors! Arrogant is not the word to describe this doctor. In mid June of 2007 I had cataract surgery done with a Restore implant. The surgery went bad from the beginning! The following day Christenbury had to do another “procedure“on my eye to RE-align the implant. This in office procedure caused swelling of the eye and the cornea which caused a partial loss of sight which did come back in several days. On July 3rd my retina tore, when I was examined at Christenbury’s office they “didn’t know what was wrong” so they sent me to another doctor who did surgery that night. My retina again tore on August 18th precipitating another surgery. In all I have had 6 surgeries in the past 23 months to correct Dr. Christenbury’s _______________ I have lost partial sight and peripheral vision.

:| Click to report rating    10/12/08 3 1 1 Go somewhere else! Staff ok-a couple of them. Dr is very unapproachable(arrogant)- not helpful at all. ie:I tried to ask him questions about a procedure he was going to do on my right eye and he turned and looked at me as if he couldn't believe I had the audacity to speak to him. I think he should go back to school to learn proper bed-side manner. I think he is knowledgable but will do a procedure for the money rather than be truthful. The office books so many appoinments there is no way this doctor can be punctual or spend an appropriate amount of time with his patients. I had a bad experience in his office that I haven't told anyone about yet. I spent a lot of money at his office(still paying) and drove about 135 miles one way(from my home to his office) and did not get very good results or sevice.He did RK on my eyes in mid 90's that was great. This is why I sought him out this time. If he didn't think I was a good candidate for the ReStor/ReZoom procedure he should have said so.

:( Click to report rating    7/23/08 4 2 3 It was a horrible experience, I was told be I was perfect for ReStore, it did not work, I am left with burred vision and then he told me I could no longer make appointments at his office. This is after 7 months and three surgeries. He said go find another Dr. This man has no integrity, he only wants your $, stay away! Don't be fooled by his song and dance, if something goes wrong he will not stand by you. Don't take that chance, this is your vision.

:( Click to report rating    5/1/08 5 1 1 Dr. Christenbury ,Throws the rock and hides his hand. He bailts you with all this marketing then he switch up on the service. How in the "Hell" is he still thinking he is a "Good" Surgeon. Basic Dr. ok. But "Surgeon" Hell to the nawl!! {Hell No}

:| Click to report rating    3/26/08 5 3 1 The surgery went ok but did have to be redone one time. I felt this doctor was sort of rude and arrogant and only cared about the money. He herds people through like sheep, this office is an assembly line. They care more about quantity than quality. They could honestly be more patient, compassionate, and caring. With that said, I guess they do an ok job on the surgery but I probably would not go here if I knew then what I know now, I would rather have a more personal and down to earth eye doctor. Dr. Christenbury just advertises so much it makes it seem like he is the best.

:) Click to report rating    2/16/08 5 2 2 I had lasik done by Christenbury eye center. The girl who came in the room during my consultation with the doctor was the sweetest and most helpful person in medical care I have met thus far, and shes only a surgery technician. The building was nice, the staff was all very pretty, and the equiptment; well I didn't know there were so many things you can do to eyes. I believe at this point I saw 3 doctors that work there, one I found to be quite annoying and boisterous, but he seemed genuine, the other had no personality what so ever, albeit thorough and then there was Dr. Christenbury. He was quite knowledgeable, and willing to answer my questions, but he was also quick to make me feel like a fool for asking a question. He made me feel like an inconvenience. He could take lessons in caring for his patients from his technicians. Quality technique does not always equal quality patient care.

:) Click to report rating    1/11/08 5 5 5 From the moment I walked in the door at Christenbury Eye Center, I knew I had made the right decision about where to have my LASIK procedure. I was greeted with a smile, and I waited very little time at all before being ushered back by a member of Dr. Christenbury's staff. My examination was incredibly thorough, and my technician explained each step in layman's terms that I could understand. I was surprised to get to visit with Dr. Christenbury at my initial consultation, but he was also extremely friendly and explained the procedure in detail to put me at ease. Dr. Christenbury talked me through my entire procedure describing each step and approximately how long it would take. The procedure took only a few minutes, and I really felt no pain at all during the surgery or after. At my follow-up, I was not disappointed, as the doctor and his staff were once again warm and professional. I am thrilled with the results of my procedure. I now have 20/10 vision. :) Click to report rating    1/10/08 5 5 5 I had Lasik performed by Dr. Jonathan Christenbury in March. I did quite a bit of research before choosing Dr. Christenbury. I was very nervous about having something like this done. The staff at Dr. Christenbury's office was very nice and did everything they could to inform me about what to expect and to ease my anxiety. However, it was only after speaking with Dr. Christenbury that my mind was put to rest. Dr. Christenbury was terrific! He is very professional and a great doctor. He was patient with my numerous questions and that was very nice. Today, nearly 6 weeks later, my vision is perfect...well....better than perfect actually. If I wasn't 55 years old I could be a fighter pilot I guess. If you are looking for someone to perform lasik on your eyes I would recommend that you give Dr. Christenbury a call. He'll let you know if you are a candidate and if so what your options are.

:| Click to report rating    11/15/07 2 1 2 Dr. Christenbury is an arroant and rude man. He treats his patients like idiots and I even saw him being rude and hateful to his staff. Meat market and **** are the two words that come to mind. Don't bother to ask him any questions he won't take the time to answer you in a down to earth manner. If I was a Dr. I wouln't have to ask the questions. If you want respect and communication go somewhere else.

:( Click to report rating *  10/2/07 2 3 1 People Beware this Dr. and his "dog and pony show"While he may local "celebrities" photos on the walls all praising his work, it must have been a really good day for them! In Jan. 2007 I went to Dr. Christenbury to see what if anyhing could be done about my vision. Like so many others reaching the "after 50's" eyes, I wanted to do away with my contacts and glasses. After examining my eyes, there was musch excitment from Dr. Christenbury and staff that I was indeed a "Candidate" for the new Restor Surgery. He proceeded to tell me how wonderful this was , I was a great candidate, and showed me a film of a former patient (this "patient" was also a tv celeb. probably paid for this endorsement.)I don't have enough words left to go into all the detail of what happened and how little Dr. Christenbury cared. He just is a mean person only after the almighty dollar. I am now in the process of having multiple "second opinions" to try to regain my eyesight. Please do your research!

:| Click to report rating    7/17/07 2 2 2 Dr. Christenbury is so well known here that I assumed he would "the best" but his clinic staff went so fast and I hardly got to say anything to him. I didn't feel like he was my doctor, more of a money collector. He pushed me on some procedure I'd never heard of and then walked me out, then they tried to get me to pay for it right there! The service was uncomfortable at best. I think there are other LASIK docs in Charlotte who can do just was well as him and even take their time with the patient. If I'm paying THAT MUCH money, I should deserve a little respect and be able to ask the doctor about my concerns.

:| Click to report rating    11/17/06 2 1 DR CHRISTENBURY IS ARROGANT, REFUSES TO LISTEN TO THE PATIENT, DOESN'T ANSWER QUESTIONS FROM THE PATIENT, TALKS IN CIRCLES, WALKS OUT ASAP!! HAS NOT BACKED UP HIS WORK ON MY HUSBAND AT ALL!! TALKS WAY TOO MUCH, NEVER STOPS LONG ENOUGH TO HEAR US! HE'S COCKY, STUCK UP, AND WE DON'T RECOMMEND THE RESTOR TO ANYONE!

:) Click to report rating    10/14/06 4 3 Dr. Christenbury's office is an eye meat market. You are passed on from person to person to person-everyone being beautiful and new but lacking empathy and true genuine character that is needed. I mean, these people are lasering off your eye and rush through your questions. I think it is because they see so many people in a day, you're just a number. Dr. Christenbury did an EXCELLENT job and he is top notch, but my husband didn't know if he was getting PRK or intralasik until 20 minutes before surgery despite asking for follow up with Dr.Christenbury that week prior. if you want warm and fuzzy, this ain't for you. If you don't care about that, and want top of the line surgery, he is the man.

:)      8/25/05 5 3 Yes, yes, I know Dr. Christenbury is supposed to be the "God" of eyes. The bad thing is, he knows it. He will fill the room with his arrogance as soon as he walks in. Love the job he did on my eyes (Intralasik) but my God, man, listen to me if I've got a question. Oh, by the way, his record isn't "perfect". Even the "God of eyes" has screwed up a few times. Every eye is a dollar sign to him - churns out surgeries like the Ford, excuse me, Mercedes assembly line churns out cars. He's great, but he knows it. And don't even try to ask him a question. As soon as he says you're a perfect candidate, he's out of that room so fast so you can proceed to the financing dept. to find out how much it's gonna cost you. Needs to concentrate on his patients more than ALL of his marketing schemes.
