I visited the office of Kagan and Jugan as a result of an auto accident. When my doctor left their practice, somehow, my file was not released to that doctor (nor were any other patient's files). I was told it was because my dr. failed to copy the files. I find that hard to believe - what would my dr. stand to gain by not keeping his patient's records? So, instead of putting the patient's interest first (which is part of the hippocratic oath they all swear to) by allowing my file to be transferred to my doctor (when he left the practice) so I could receive uninterupted treatment (pain management), my treatment was interupted by the delay it took for me to obtain a full copy of my file. I wouldn't trust this doctor based on this action - putting his interest above a patient's interest. We are human beings, not just money or a casualty in some feud transpiring between doctors.

Dr. Kagen performed an OATS procedure on my left knee due to an old Army injury. That was six years ago and I was completely healed within 5 months because of his expertise and his rehab staff. I have been jogging about 10-12 miles per week since then with no negative effects from the whole ordeal. Dr. Kagen is a very skilled surgeon who definitely doesn't work for the money, but because he loves what he does. I recommend him highly and hope this feedback helps someone looking for an excellent surgeon in SW Florida.

Unfortuntly I have not had your luck. I was in severe pain for seven months before Dr. Kagan would admit that something went wrong.I had told him one month after my surgery that someting is wrong but he kept telling me that I was in theone percent tile that heals badly. He did what he called a ( do over )I am 90% better but still in a lot of pain. Can't go up or down stairs normally.Mass production surgery does not always work. You guys had early morning surgerys or got lucky. I just think he is past his prime and living on his past reputetion.

Wish more doctors were like John Kagan. He truly loves medicine and his patients. He will take the time to explain anything you need to hear. He gives back to the community and is not only an excellent doctor but a "nice guy." No one else would operate on me but him

Excellent orthopedic surgeon! Knowledgeable, kind, funny..will take time to explain things. Also has excellent PAs and his own physical therapy dept. Great if there is a problem and you need to be seen right now!

He is one of the most intelligent, up-to-date doctor I have had the pleasure of having. The only problem I have is the wait to get in to see him. But, in order to have excellent care, it's worth it. He has a pretty good bedside manner and will take time to explain things to you.
