I am happy with my surgery and ecstatic over the care I got at NE baptist -- they are top notch. but I have never had a follow up visit with dr. van flandern where I wasn't kept waiting at least 2 hrs. that is unconscionable. he's a little too slick for my taste and tends to gloss over questions/concerns.

Dr. Van Flandern replaced my Mothers hip in July of 08. It was a very complicated case to to her size and overall health condition. He was outstanding. Compasionate and firm with his findings. We felt very confident in his ability. Mom is doing great now... no more pain. Thank You!

I have only met Dr VanFlandern twice but, thus far, he has been very informative to me and has given me the feeling of comfort in his ability to care for my health needs. He has recommended total hip replacemtn surgery in the very near future.

Had 2 labrum repairs/debridement with him. Tears continued after being diagnosed with Congenital Hip Dysplasia, he wanted to continue to repair the tears which is the worse thing to do with dysplastic hips. I had to ask why it was happening, he then referred me out to another doc and said that my hips were complex. In the end he does not do osteotomy surgery that I need but would have done the quick fix without putting all the cards on the table.

Initially saw him for a Worker's Comp issue, at which time I liked him and found him sympathetic. Had a totally different experience several years later, when I consulted him for a neck injury sustained in a car accident; on that visit, he was cold, sarcastic, and dismissive ... surprising in light of the rapport we'd seem to have had previously. Would never go back to him or recommend him to anyone.

Dr. van flandern took my dads hip and did a revision on it when noone else would touch him. They said there was nothing they could do. He rebuilt hip and dad is doing great. Always get a second opinion
