I'm so glad I took the advice of the reviewers below and saw Dr. Lehrer. I've had GI issues for some time now and Dr. Lehrer is the first GI doctor who took thorough note of my symptoms and confidently diagnosed me. She was approachable, down to earth, has excellent skills and bedside manner. She told me what tests she was going to do and walked me through them so there would not be any surprises. She answers any questions and is very reassuring. I feel like I'm well taken care of with her as my GI doctor. The staff are all very kind as well.

Like the person who commented below-- Dr. Lehrer has sat with me patiently while I've cried in pain or frustration, while I've asked a million questions and been empathetic when I think I've had about all I can take of my symptoms. She's very confident in her own skills-- but never so arrogant as to believe she knows all there is- offers to send me for a 2nd opinion if I want one and will tell me when she's uncertain about the cause of a particular symptom or approach to healing. Dr. Lehrer doesn't just explain everything she does before she does it-- she actually ASKS if it's OK with you. Dr. Lehrer is truly a partner in your care, she listens carefully to what you have to say, she's not afraid of answering your questions about her diagnosis, and she holds herself to a very high standard- if she's not 100% of what she diagnosed you with- she keeps researching after you leave and will call you if she changes her mind. I am a difficult patient. If you want the best: Dr. Lehrer is it.

Doctors don't come any better than Dr. Lehrer. I agree with everything that has been said below. I especially appreciate that there are no surprises during exams and that Dr. Lehrer is not only careful to maintain patient modesty, but patient privacy-- and she expects the same of her staff. I love the way she thinks out loud sometimes- because it reinforces what I already know: Dr. Lehrer is always willing to tell you what she thinks is going on, even if she's not 100% sure. And, Dr. Lehrer is very human, and while she is VERY intelligent, she doesn't pretend to know everything, she's been very patient with me when I've cried out of frustration and she's compassionate beyond any doctor I've ever met. Dr. Lehrer spent an amazing amount of time in school acquiring her medical knowledge and skills (med school, residency, 3 year fellowship)-- but her ability to make a patient feel safe and cared for cannot be taught-- and it makes her better than every other doctor I've ever met.

Dr. Lehrer is phenomenal! After being brushed off by a number of physicians, Dr. Lehrer came through. She is incredibly intelligent, compassionate, and genuine. She always takes her time to explain what she is doing and what she thinks is going on. I can't say enough wonderful things about her!

Dr. Lehrer is an amazing doctor. She's very compassionate, she takes the time to explain everything and answer questions. During an exam she always explains what she is going to do before she does it, and is careful to maintain her patient's modesty. She is also very intelligent, and willing to speak with other physicians to coordinate care. I can't say enough good things about this doctor!

I agree with the other 2 posts, Dr. Lehrer always returns phone calls, and she's really understanding and great about answering questions and problem solving issues with me. I never feel like she's hiding anything from me, or not being straight with me-- I've seen other GI docs before and none of them are as good as Dr. Lehrer!

SO NICE, and very smart. Returns calls promptly, truly cares about her patients... she once told me that she's tasted all the colonoscopy preps because she figures if her patients have to take them, she should at least try to give them the ones that taste the least disgusting... that's dedication! Seriously, though, the only problem is that she sometimes runs late-- but in my experience that's because she takes the time to completely address all the needs and concerns of her patients. I HIGHLY reccomend her!

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME! She's very very kind, intelligent, thorough- orders all necessary tests, but doesn't order a battery of unnecessary tests. I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Lehrer!
