Excellent and talented orthopedic surgeon with great bedside manner and pride in what he does. I feel so lucky that he was the surgeon on call when I broke my foot. I wish he would also take me as a patient for a long term hip issue but unfortunately not.

1/7/13 | 5 | 4 | 5 | 5 | I fell walking my dogs and broke my ankle in three places. Ended up in the ER and had surgery with Dr.Guy. I was scared and in a great deal of pain. He was calm and it was clear from the outset I was in good hands. I have recovered well and am sure I will have good mobility thanks to this great surgeon. | Respond |

11/1/12 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | I was dismissed in ER at VGH saying I was complaining about nothing. In fact had a compound fracture of elbow. Dr. Guy to the rescue as my surgeon. I had been setting out to walk a pilgrammage the day I fell and was determined to continue with plans ASAP post op. I contracted with Dr Guy that I'd stay around Vancouver for the first 2 wks post elbow pinning, if I could then leave to walk the Camino de Santiago in Spain. He worked with me around this plan and so 2 wks later I went to his office, backpack on my back for a post-up followup.....4 hours before my flight to Spain! He is fabulous! Supportive, reassuring, and an expert surgeon. The OR team was outstanding and supportive. I owe my complete recovery to this doctor. Had been told in ER I would likely not regain any decent mobility, however was back kayaking in 3 months! | Respond |

9/26/12 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | Dr. Guy operated on me two years ago, fixing a badly broken tibial plateau. He did an amazing job and I credit my recovery to him (+ good physio). Although I was advised that I might never be able to run again, I was back competing in cross-country ski races 6 months after the operation, backpacking the following summer, and am now able to run on soft trails (something they would not guarantee). Our daughter has Downs syndrom and we could not watch her in the pain she was in any longer, no one else would take the time and see her as quickly as this Dr. did. He has excellent bedside manner and is very good at his profession. She healed fine and had mobility back within days. The staff at VGH were above average in here care also! | Respond |

1/26/10 | 5 | 4 | 5 | 5 | After a down hill mountain biking accident, my right elbow suffered terrible triad. It was quite a severe compound fracture that the first experienced surgent I went to told me i had no option but to replace parts of my bones with titanium, which would have meant lost of range of motion and strength in my elbow for the rest of my life. Dr. Guy's team, however, were able to reconstruct my bones and together with the help of a good physio therapy team, i'm on my way to regain nearly 100% of my range of motion. the extend of my recovery even surprised my own family doctor. Dr. Guy is knowlegable and has a great reputation even amongst his peers. i highly recommend him. | Respond |

10/21/09 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | Dr. Guy is a top notch ortho surgeon. He saved me from having a bone transplant on my right tibia. He said it was overkill by another doctor in RGH. He said the bone would grow back in the back of the tibia, because the front of the tibia was scooped out due to staff infection. There has been substantial growth in the back. I am well on the way to recovery after almost nine months of not walking. This man has given my live back to me and I am very thankfull. I would highly recommend him to anybody who needs orthopedic surgery. He is one of the best. | Respond |

I'm from Kelowna and after a severe accident the dr.s here wanted to amputate one of my arms. Dr.Guy saved it. Saved both of them. The doctors at home (kelowna) had low expectations and assumed Dr.Guy couldn't do anything. My arms were completely shattered. Dr.Guy spent hours piecing together my elbows.I am still under his care (4 years later) and continues to help. I won't let anyone else touch them :)He has nothing but amazing favor from me. He has wonderful staff and his students have a lot of respect for him. He is a God send to me. If you're looking for a surgeon to trust with a great reputation, (known as the best orthopedic surgeon in western Canada)feel completely confident in Dr.Guy | Respond |

This was 2 years ago and I was really scared but needed surgerie after being in a awful car accident, dr Guy went above and beyond to make me feel cofortable and was vey kind to me as i was histerical and totally freaking out. Is on time even with his large load of patients. And if he isn't I can tell you he is well worth waiting for.
