I just got done reading all the reviews and most are very negative, and I can't help vut wonder if they're confusing the two dr Feilers bc I've experienced alot of these complaints with the one based out of San Mateo. I started seeing the RWC based dr Feiler a few yrs ago when I had an ulceration and of course the other dr fieler had no time for me. This one however put me in durring his lunch break and numbed my eye gave me the proper meds in a sample and new contacts also in sample form. His staff is fantastic. The dr. is great. Yes he went in on his whole LASIK speech, but that was only after I brought up wanting to have it. I never ever have problems with getting an appt. My wait time isn't any longer then any other doctor's appt. Yes the office is small but that's not really worth complaining about. To sum it up with the exception of the eye doctor I saw as a kid he is by far my favorite!

I was referred to Dr Feiler by a friend who has worked with different doctors over the years and had even interned at a pretty well-known clinic in Hollywood. He assured me that he's seen more positive results post-lasik with Dr Feiler than with other doctors. I took his word for it and has not been disappointed. Every visit was easy breezy (though probably helps that I always go see him pre- or post- rush hours) and he's knowledgeable in a lot of areas. At my first visit, I was concerned about a cyst I had in my left eye. While unrelated to my lasik surgery, he gladly answered my questions relating to the cyst. I had went to Kaiser 4 times (=4 copays) prior, each time being referred to a PA or NP and none of them could give me an answer. Dr Feiler advised that I try warm compress instead and it should resolve, since the position of the cyst would require an outside incision to remove it and could possibly leave a scar. So I heeded his advise and the cyst went away.

I came here as a VSP first-time patient. Front desk was helpful and courteous. Met with Dr. Caul, who was fantastic, made me feel comfortable, did a great job providing a thorough eye exam, and even gave me her email address. That was worth the slight wait to see her. Afterwards waited a little more before meeting with Dr. Feiler, who was pleasant, conversational, and only briefly mentioned laser correction surgery but didn't push it. All in all, I felt very well taken care of and comfortable, with personal attention that is well worth the slight waiting periods. I'm not quite sure where all the poor ratings are coming from, but my visit was fantastic.

My parents had seen Dr. Feiler for more than 10 years. My father complained of vision problems so we scheduled a visit. The visit took almost 2 hours, we saw the Dr. for only a few minutes and were given new prescriptions. The new glasses were no improvement. We took the glasses back and were told the prescription was correct. Dr. Feiler, after some discussion, told me my father was simply at an age where they could not offer him any improvement. My father had kept 12 glasses that he had received from Dr. Feiler over the years. The doctors own technician examined all of them (including the new ones) and was unable to put them in any chronological order or even identify the oldest or newest ones. The technician told us all the glasses had exactly the same prescription. I asked both the doctor and the technician why my father had received exactly the same prescription on a dozen glasses over the years. I never got an answer to that question.

This was the single worst doctor I have ever been too. I was in the office for over 2 hours for a simple eye exam. I was with the doctor for less than 5 minutes of this time, the rest was waiting.He also has his technicians do most of the work. He had a terrible rushed attitude, and gave me an incorrect contact prescription. The office is also very shabby and out dated. I think it use to be a small house. I would NEVER recommend this doctor to my family and friends. I felt this visit was a complete waste of time and money. Overall I would rate this visit : AWFUL!

Absolutely terrible practice. I went to their location with an appointment for a contact lens fitting, After a 2 hour wait (for which no apology was given) they were rude and curt when they finally saw me. They then attempted to give me, and charge me for, a complete eye exam which I had clearly had 1 week earlier. We exchanged words and I walked out 10 minutes into the exam when I realized I have been misled. After this incident I recieved bills several times for the visit, despite everything, and only got them to stop with threats of a lawyer.

Dr. Feiler's office is really small and old. I think it is a converted house. His staff is pleasant enough, but the exam felt rushed and all his equipment is really old. His glasses selection is very poor and his optician was very rude to me and did not know what my insurance covered. Overall an OK experience but not great.

He did a wonderful job on my eye with laser correction. No more glasses!!
