I see that many people have had a similarities in their experience with Dr. Lou Peltz. Hold him accountable for his actions. Complain to the CEO (Michelle DiEmanuele) and Patient Relations at Credit Valley Hospital. There is a link on the hospital website, or you can call 905 813 2200 ext 4109, or you can write in and mail it. Each hospital runs as a corporation, and has a board of directors. Hospitals cannot ignore care consistently reported as sub-standard if they are aware of it. I have complained directly to the hospital. One complaint letter can be ignored. 100 cannot. Make his employer aware of problems that you have encountered. They cannot fix what they do not know is wrong.

I've been suffering from clinical depression and anxiety for several years. I went to Dr Peltz and poured my soul out, but he treated me condescendingly and actually chuckled as I was explaining how I felt. He smugly told me that I was going through a "phase". During the appointment, he asked me irrelevant questions that I felt were intrusive and unnecessary. For example, he asked if I had a boyfriend or if I wanted to have a family - I was a teenager at the time and it was obvious my disorder had no link to my non-existent romantic life. At the end of the meeting, he didn't give my family any advice, he just left. It's kind of sad that uncaring doctors like even him exist, because there are patients who really need not only need professional help, but a friend and confidant. Overall, Dr Peltz is pretty unhelpful and not the least bit interested in connecting with his patients.

We went to see Dr Peltz during a difficult time in our life. Our son was having problems with anxiety issues and dr Peltz and his staff were very accomodating and helpful. Dr Peltz went above and beyond and accomodated us during his lunch hours and one day when i called for an advise he gave us a call at home. He has seen our son on weekly basis. My son really likes him, he has a great deal of humor and is treating the teenager appropriately. They get a long very well.His secretary is very proffesional and warm in dealing with sometimes streesed and worried parents,We are very happy with Dr Peltz and would always recomend him to people that need his service. Dr Peltz is our child's psychiatrist. He is a warm, intelligent, easy-going person. Our child was 10 when he first met the dr. It's been 2 yrs. We have nothing but good to say about him. Our child opens right up to him. Dr. P has given us great sensible advice. We have long unrushed discussions. I am shocked by the negative reviews. We never had him ignore us. We always feel like we have his full attention. He does know a great deal and we value his ideas as they have worked for us. It may not be what we want to hear. He has also given us great advice on advocacy for our child in the school system. I wish I had taken our child to him years earlier. It feels like these negative ratings are for another dr? The staff was fine but they are busy. I have always been treated courteously and professionally. Oh and the office didn't charge me when I needed a copy of something. It's a nice waiting room.

This is the WORST Doctor I have ever had to deal with. He is rude, not willing to listen (and he's a Psychiatrist) and easily distracted. He spent more time looking at his watch and yawning rather than talking with us. My Son has ASD which was diagnosed by another Dr. and even after that Dr. diagnosed him he still refused to talk about it. We dealt with this Dr. for way too long and he wasted too many years of my Son's life and not offering him any treatment. DO NOT waste your time with this Dr. he is not worth the price you have to pay for parking. I am still wondering how he has managed to keep his job with all of these negative ratings. Maybe more of us should file formal complaints?

After reading all of these horrible ratings for Dr Peltz, I was a bit nervous to bring my son to see him. However, I was very pleasantly surprised at how wrong all of these reviews were. First off he was right on time, he was with an amazing team who all interacted with my son. It was an amazing experience. My husband and I received very valuable information and direction on which way to better help our son. I would highly recommend this Dr to friends and family. We will definitely be seeing him again.

Dr.Peltz is pleasant and polite but easily distracted. He was on his phone several times during my son's assessment and left the room for long periods of time. The person he was training was left to deal with us. Based on the short period of time he was with us he diagnosed my son with moderate depression and said not to worry most teens get it and he would get better. Several months later my son is suffering from serious depression and is now on medication. We are waiting to see a new psychiatrist. I would NOT use Dr. Peltz again. He needs to take his job more seriously. Kids lives are in his hands!

He arrived late, talk on his cell phone while attending us, it seems he didn't know what I was talking about. At the end, he told me it was normal for my son to get distracted when he was not interested and almost told me I was the one that needed help. My son was diagnosed with Arperger year ago and is getting worse.

I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. We saw him for my son, who has ASD. The worst experience ever. He was not willing to listen, much less understand. He reaches illogical conclusions and claims it as professional medical diagnosis based on his 25 years of experience. He pushed for a test at a private clinic before he was able to help us in any way. Hard to believe this doctor can help anyone with a medical condition. Not even worth the price they charge for parking. I will not be visiting him again. His 25 years of experience is neatly summed up by most reviews here, he should be 'proud' of the opinion patients have about him.
