I fully agree with the comments about Dr. Mahalingam, I also has an awful experience with her. She does not care about her patients, is extremely rushed and dismissive, does not respect patients autonomy, and seems to have forgotten what the concept of informed consent actually means. Avoid at all cost!

Absolutely awful experience! Dr. Mahalingham provides no meaningful care to her patients. I was continuously seeing her for the past year, and she has made it evident that she has no care regarding her patients. She is very rude, rushed, and inconsiderate of the care her patients require. I would not recommend this OB.

Truly an awful experience. This doctor is extremely touchy, and the smallest thing can set her off so that she snaps at you, and picks a fight. I’ve honestly never met any doctor who behaves like this!

As others have rightfully said, Dr. Mahalingham is indeed a disgrace to the healthcare system in Calgary. My experience with her was extremely negative — she was rushed, and showed no compassion or concern for me or my baby. Her bedside manner was terrible, and it was clear she could not have cared less. I felt dismissed and disrespected.

I came back after 8 month to write this review, I feel it’s the right thing to do. In my delivery day, she was checking me (with hand inside) while starting answering her cellphone in the other hand, and the other nurse finally offered her a mask.. I was in such vulnerable situation I wasn’t in control any of that, but my husband was beside me, he was furious, he still think dr. Mahalingham gave infection and fever, caused baby heart beat increase during labour, I had to go through C-section at the end. It was a traumatic experience, but she didn’t made it worse.

Even though I read majority of the reviews complaining about her, I totally agree with them and I am writing this review just for helping new patients who are in the line waiting to see her in future. She did not properly exam me and didn’t determine the causes I was talking about my pains and concerns. She was reluctant to physically internally examine me and just referring me to physio for all my concerns without even knowing about the concerns. The entire appointment was so rushed and I didn’t leave satisfied and did feel my questions were answered.

I have to agree with the negative reviews, especially the ones that speak to feeling traumatized by her. She will pull the dead baby card to coerce you and doesn’t care about being a respectful or empathetic human. Horrific bedside manner. I hope to never encounter her again.

Dr Mahalingham has been supporting me through a long journey of achieving menopause through a variety of complications. She is empathetic, energetic and really supports outlining all avenues that she can offer and me making the decisions that feel right for me. She is readily available to talk through my experiences and has always followed up with either in person visits or phone calls that leave me feeling informed, reassured and supported. From my perspective she has been a perfect fit for my needs. She is a great partner in achieving optimal health outcomes.

I am an OB. I chose Mahalingham. Perfect harmony of skills, experience, warmth. She delivered.

This Doctor is a disgrace to the health care system in Canada and Calgary. She was very rude and racist using the term 'you people'. `She yelled at my sister during labour even while her shift ended, she came back to keep stalking her and traumatized her. She caused her to cease labour briefly and have a spiked blood pressure causing her to be high risk delivery. She has zero bedside manners and never apologized for her behaviour even when she discovered that she had the wrong information. I was disappointed that FMC hired such a terrible doctor. She even yelled at her junior doctor on that day while her voice was a 100, the whole ward could hear her. I will never forget this bad experience. Thankfully another doctor delivered by nephew safely and kindly, but my sister is forever traumatized . She should be retrained and should not be around vulnerable persons.
