He is not a Lyme Literate Doctor. Please, for the sake of your well being and the people that love and need you, if you are suspicious of a tick borne complication, avoid Dr. Shaw. An educated doctor would be suspicious of tick borne illnesses if: there has been a documented tick bite, lab tests ordered show exposure to bacteria and you have symptoms. However, this was not the case with Dr. Shaw. He clearly liked my cash up front, but brushed me off when it was something above his capacity, and told me I was fine even after the symptoms and lab results did indicate complications. Furthermore, the staff is of very low quality. They do not deal with insurance companies. Just avoid this office and Dr. Shaw for tick borne illnesses. I cannot say anything about other health issues, but avoid him and his staff for tick borne complications.

Dr Shaw was instrumental in helping me to recover my son from autism. He gave me so many ideas and was such a supportive, kind and gentle man. My son is now completely recovered from autism! It was such a tough time when he was first diagnosed and Dr Shaw has an amazingly calming demeanor and helped to calm me down and accept the diagnosis and move forward. He is a person who loves children and who is in this field out of love, not money. He is also an expert in Chinese/eastern medicine. We were very pleased with him, still go there, and recommend him to our friends. Mary H.

Both my wife and and I and her mother have used Dr. Shaw , in the pas. He is one of the finest MD/ND's on the West Coast...if not in practice. He is Creighton grad. You are very safe and knowledgeable hands with him

Kind, compassionate, helpful doctor. Highly recommend. We have been going to him for years.

I'm shocked to read bad reviews. I guess medicine is never perfect. Dr. Shaw spent a lot of time with me and figured out why I was always feeling so awful. I'm like a different person. More impressively, he helped lead to a diagnosis of my husband's very rare bone disease that other doctors had brushed off countless times over the years. Dr. Shaw's persistence likely saved my husband from being in a wheelchair by age 60. We're forever grateful.

Dr. Shaw is a Great Doctor and a Great Medical Detective too. I have my health and my life back because of him. I had had health problems for years before I went to him, other doctors just threw antibiotics at me without trying to figure out why I was sick yet again. Before my 1st appt. Dr. Shaw had me fill out the most comprehensive medical history that I had ever seen, then at my 1st appt. he went over it in detail with me which took 1 and ½ hours. After which he knew what tests to order. When the results came back he spent over an hour with me explaining in depth everything he had found. He found several things wrong and made a customized treatment plan that has worked wonders because of him I have my life back.

Dr. Shaw mouthed the right words but his results are unimpressive. I agree with someone that it appears that I got sicker after seeing him. Plus, he pushes his supplements hard and gets demanding on following his protocol.

I went to Dr Shaw for severe muscle pain. He did a lot of tests which turned out normal. He then asked me to buy a lot of supplements from him which I did not need. Taking the high levels of magnesium and MSM supplements he recommended made me much worse. He also kept insisting I increase my fish oil from 1 capsule to 6 per day and that I buy it from him. I felt he was ignoring my real problems and just trying to sell his products.

I have been a patient of Dr. Shaw's for over 9 years. He is a very knowledgeable Doctor who practices both Eastern and Western medicine, and is an extremely compasionate man. He helps me get well and more importanly stay well. Although the office does not accept any insurance, they are give me a bill with correct procedure codes so that all I have to do is submit to my insurance. Sure I could go to a doctor that accepts my insurance, but I wouldn't get the care given by Dr. Shaw and his staff!!! From the friendly office staff to the nurses, and Dr. Shaw himself, they are great.

As others have said here, a very compassionate doctor. After seeing another doctor who was at a loss to explain my exhaustion (>6 months), went to see doctor Shaw. After testing for quite a few causes, turns out I have lots of food allergies and inflammation. He put me on a restrictive diet and supplements. My energy is slowly returning. If you're looking for a doctor who won't automatically throw prescription drugs at you and will treat your symptoms seriously, then this is a great place to go for healthcare. He doesn't process insurance claims, so you are on your own for that. I have no problem with the office carrying a lot of supplements, I'm thrilled to find a doctor who is knowledgeable about supplements. Doctor Shaw told me that I could go to the vitamin store or get my supplements from his office. I am taking one supplement that I am not able to locate anywhere else, so I buy it from this office.
