NOT a fan of this Dr. He was arrogant and frankly a bit rude. I number of years ago (I found ou taody) he misdiagnosed my mother "pre-menopausal" when she had a serious thyroid condition. She subsequently went to another Dr. who took one look at her protruding eyes and said "you have a thyroud condition dear". UGH!

I have seen Dr. Farrell twice at outpatients in NW. He is one of the worst communicators I've ever come across and intolerably flippant. From my experience, I can't imagine him ever being able to properly diagnose anyone. He certainly didn't help me at all. In fact, his sending me home untreated most certainly resulted in my having a more serious problem.

I have been seeing Doctor Farrell since he came here, (I saw the othr Docs in his place before that Murthy and Daniels) He is a good Doctor, the one thing I must say is he will refer you to a specialist when needed. The thing that most people do not realize is we are in charge of our own bodies, Docs are far too busy to do it all, we need to say "Well I think maybe I need an xray, etc" this is how it works so great for me ( I am currently in the care of great specialists thanks to Doc Farrell. And I am not sure why we would ever rate a Doctor on his speech pattern, it does not matter how much he says, but "WHAT" he says that is important!! I am happy to have him, (and Elaine too) I will agree that the wait times are ridiculious though, but I do not think that can be helped.

It is true that he at times lacks social skills and that his wait times are long, but he is the best doctor in New Waterford. Obviously he will not be liked by some, as is the case with all physicians, however he is extremely knowledgable despite what you may think. I personally would rather have a doctor who says little but has a solid understanding in his field. If you think that you are not getting anywhere with him simply ask to be refered to a specialist. He does not take offense to this request at all and will not hesitate to do so. Oh, and if I ever land in the ER facing a life or death situation I PRAY TO GOD that he is on call. There is nobody better in NW to have in an emergency situation than Dr. Farrell

Well, as far as Dr. Farrell goes i wouldnt take my dog to him. I took my daughter to see him after we had been in an accident and we got in the office and all i got out of him was, mmmm, mmm hhmmmm, yea, mm mhhh. After about 20 minutes of him saying mm hmm he told me to go home and give her childrens tylenol. When i got home she was in so much pain i had to take her back up and thank god he wasn't still on and the other doctor actually checked her out and sent her for x-rays the next morning. So as far as Dr. Farrell i would rather to get my dog to check me out then go to Dr. Farrell. So Dr. Farrell i would suggest you go back to school.

Dr. Farrell was my family doctor for 22 years, since I was born until I left New Waterford. Yes the waits are long. BUT anyone who knows what is going on at the NW outpatients (IE lack of doctors, shutdowns) would be understanding of this. He helped me with everything I ever went to him for. And when he was in question of what was going on, he ordered every exam or referrals that were needed to help without hesitation. And when I moved away, he offered his help in anything that he could do while I'm away at school, just to let him know. However, I think Dr. Farrell could be getting bad ratings because he is not the type of doctor to give as many narc. prescriptions away as some of the "Town Folk" would like him too. So if you are looking for a doctor just to hand over the narc slips there's other doctors in town. I would choose Dr Farrell over any other doctor in town. Just take a look at rest of the docs in town. Dr. Farrell is probably one of the best you can choose from
