Superlative. Although one might not like the information and assessment given by Dr. Kim, he is truthful and will give you the hard facts. At the same time, he is compassionate. Our daughter had only a 10% chance of surviving emergency neurosurgery. She's alive and recovering. The ICU nurses were in awe. Everyone at the hospital was filled with admiration at his expertise. For us: a miracle.

His staff could be better considering how good he is. He was very attentive with me..my one complaint is cancelations of appointments. He is very straight and honest ...he is very humble, compassionate and I guess this makes up for hi staff being so poor, some believe that the staff you surround yourself is the kind of surgeon you are but aside from his staff he really is very good

I agree with other post about front desk staff, they are RUDE. I'm also a doc and would fire the front desk staff if they worked for me. Dr. Kim and his assistant, Melissa are enjoyable. Dr. Kim has no say over other staff, they're hired by the senior partners. I have serious back issues, and most doctors would be in a hurry to cut me open and collect a big checks. I have seen Dr. Kim for 5 years now, and he has watched my condition for any changes. There is no guarantee that surgery will fix my problem, but a high probability surgery would worsen. It was the first surgeon's desire to operate that left me in my present condition, and Dr. Kim does not want to worsen the equilibrium I have without higher probability of success. He has used my case for Symposia to illicit ideas from other spine docs, and he has sent me to see his mentor at USC. Everyone agrees with Dr. Kim to wait for better technology before treating. I'm glad he has taken his time, I could not handle being worse off.

In my opinion, the doctor is completely absent regarding his patients. He doesn't return phone calls. He orders tests and doesn't follow up with his patients. But the worst is having to deal with his personal assistants. They are rude and unhelpful. However, the doctor is unresponsive to complaints about them. In general he is not approachable to his patients in any way at all.
