After waiting for 45 minutes, I asked his staff how far behind Dr. Greenfield was with his appointments. I was told that there were 10 patients ahead of me (7 in exam rooms and 3 in the waiting room). I understand that doctors have emergencies, but it would have been courteous to inform me upon arrival that there would likely be a 3 hour wait to see the doctor - or even better, call me to let me know. I left the office without seeing the doctor so I can't comment on the quality of his medical care, but his staff was very unprofessional and unsympathetic.

Dr. Greenfield has helped me for the past 15 years. I went to him with knee problems. Found out my knee was shot and i would soon need a knee replacement and i was only 30, well I still don't have a knee replacement , but Dr. G has kept me walking and out of pain until i get a little older. and he will be the Dr. to do the surgery. I trust him with my life. and with my knees. i have had a few surgeries, but its just to keep the knee cleaned out to buy me more time, the reason he has done this is that a knee replacement will last 12-20 years if you are not active. i am very active. i'm an actress and do some stunts. those i would not be able to do if not for him. and a new knee would only last me maybe 5-8 years doing what i do. and you can only have 3-4 in a life time. so there you have it. i love talking to him and i ask him everything and he has the answer and if not he will find it or send me to another Dr. and will work with other DR.s to help. not many Dr.s will do that.

Good diagnostician. This is the most important thing. Whether he's on time or running late, my bottom line is that he practices good medicine. I think there should be a separate category for punctuality,staff and knowledge. Punctuality is different everyday depending on his schedule. I would hate to think that he was on time for me because he didn't spend enough time with each patient to accurately diagnose an orthopedic problem. When a patient comes in, you don't know if that person needs an xray or what. After the xray, the doctor needs to spend extra time to read it - he can run late. That's ok for me. I bring a book to read and cancel plans to see a good doctor.

I feel Dr. Greenfields office is way too busy. I was treated very poorly by the staff when I explained to them that I was waiting for over two hours for my exam. I felt brushed off when I needed them to call my insurance to get a preauthorization for my MRI. They were so busy that I ended up paying cash for my MRI because they didnt call my insurance for a preauthorization!! When I called later to explain what had happened, the office manager said if I dont like it, go somewhere else and of course, the doctor cannot come to the phone because hes too busy. I did go somewhere else and had a wonderful experience. Nobody deserves to be treated like a second class citizen. There are too many orthopedic surgeons out there who are wonderful and not too busy.
