I knew her as a trainee. Excellent doctor, wonderful person. Stood out for her effervescent, kind, warm demeanor. I will always remember her cheerful smile and encouragement as we discussed clinical matters. Condolences to her loved ones. Rest in peace.

I experienced insufficient assessment as well as a demeaning interaction with Dr. Tracy Pickett at UBC Hospital. I have a chronic and intense condition and today I experienced the most excruciating pain and so I went to the emergency at UBC Hospital. A nurse told me to put on a gown as I would receive a physical examination from the doctor, but when Dr. Pickett came to my room, she did not examine me, she merely told me her own experience with menstrual pain and told me she laughed about my situation with her coworkers. She disregarded my symptoms, belittled my situation and pain, and responded unprofessionally to my concerns. I asked about an ultra sound or a referral to a gynaecologist but she denied both of these requests and told me "nothing would show up", even though she said I may have endometriosis (an ultrasound could have detected cysts relating to this). I asked to see another doctor but Dr. Pickett was the only one. If possible, I would avoid Dr. Pickett if you have a chronic condition that is difficult to assess, as she will dismiss you and not give you proper health attention. Go to VGH instead as you're more likely to get the help you need.

Dr. Pickett is personable, professional, extremely knowledgeable and compasionate. It is hard to find a good doctor let alone a great doctor! An injury where I was told just to ice turned out to be much more serious. She diagnosed and started a treatment plan immediately. I can't thank you enough Dr. Pickett!

Had Dr. Pickett today in the ER and what a delight she was! She was so full of information that was relevant, not rushed and thorough. Would love her to be my GP!!

Awesome doctor! Has all the qualities an emerg doc should have: kind, courteous, up to date knowledge, calm and non-rushed. Saw her in the St. Pauls Emerg room with pain 6.5 out of 10. She took my symptoms seriously even though I wasn't the sickest one there. I really appreciated her giving me equal time and attention as all the meth/crack/addicted homeless shelter clientele who are far more needy than me. My pain worsened while I was there and she diagnosed the problem instantly, ordered the best tests and helpful IV, and kept me overnight to make sure my pain was under control and I saw a student specialist, with a referral to an experienced specialist before I was discharged. She also corrected the diagnosis of the first doctor I had seen elsewhere for the same problem. Thank-you Dr. Pickett :)

Dr. Pickett went out of her way to make sure I was diagnosed properly and promptly. She was the first doctor in my 3 trips to the Emergency Room to take my symptoms seriously and realise that they did not match my diagnosis I received from my initial tests and x-rays. I will NEVER forget her kindness. I don't think I would be here today if not for Dr. Pickett.
