Maria K. 0 friends 1 review 8/12/2014 At age 37 I really thought I was done with all gynecologists, I gave up hope of all physicians, and with the idea of having a family after two painful miscarriages. One day however, I went on a visit with a family member to a reproductive endocrinologist named Dr Tomer Singer and after seeing how he was with them I finally arranged to see him myself. It truly was the greatest decision I've ever made. He's not just an incredible doctor but he's an amazing, and caring human being first. He listened to me, he ran tests, and after I expressed to him the pain I was having he said it appeared to be my endometriosis so before we start a cycle of IVF I should see Dr Seckin. I have followed Dr Seckin's career since Padma Lakshmi came out with her story about endometriosis, and her ability to have a child all because of this extraordinary doctor. Dr Singer set everything up and I went to see this wonderful surgeon. What can I say about Dr Seckin? He knew what I felt before I even told him. He listened to me and explained endometriosis in depth. He believed my pain. He gave me hope but was honest and straightforward from day one. He has a wonderful staff, his great nurse Lucy held my hand when the pain was so bad. His entire team is incredible. They cover every aspect of this disease from the every physical aspect to even the psychological aspects. I had excision surgery two weeks ago and I already have less pain than before my surgery and I am still healing. He is everything you want in a surgeon; the knowledge, the expertise, the confidence, the skills, the precision, the compassion. I do not have enough words to say how thankful I am to him. Dr Seckin is my hero. I wouldn't trust anyone but him to operate on me. He removed a great deal of endo from my ovaries, to my uterus, to my bladder, and bowels. he removed it. Although, I lost a tube which was actually doing more harm than good Dr Seckin managed to give me back my hope of having a family and believing once more in great physicians. How do you ever thank someone like this? Someone who took my pain and restored my dream of having a child? I do by thanking him and telling women my story. I thank him for helping me, helping the thousands of women he has treated, and by his constant advocacy for women that are suffering in silence. Dr Seckin and The endometriosis foundation of America do an remarkable act of informing, educating, and raising awareness for this terrible debilitating disease. Thank you Dr Seckin I am and will forever be indebted to you. I will never stop spreading awareness for endometriosis. No one should ever suffer in silence. No one should ever be ignored and turned away because a disease is not visible. Every woman should have the option of carrying their own child. Painful periods are not normal. There is NO cure for endometriosis. However, we are stronger than this disease. It will never define who I am, it stole way too much of my life already. And lastly, if you feel something is wrong keep searching for the answer until you get it. Never give up hope because there are wonderful doctors out there like Dr Seckin. Dr Seckin turns down no one! It's sad to think that people write negative comments bc he has never turned any woman down that needs his help. He loves what he does and it shows!!!! Thank you Dr Seckin!!

After under going two previous endometriosis surgeries in my mid and late 20's I can honestly say there was no comparison in the quality of procedure provided by Dr.Seckin. I had read some crazy reviews about his pricing being too high etc...but ultimately I believe you get what you pay for. My surgery took almost 4 hours which I found his pricing to be fair. His techniques are opposite of what I had experienced in the past in which I believe I have now been left in better shape than ever before. My husband is a physician and he concurs that Dr.Seckin was knowledgable and on target with his diagnosis and surgical performance. I am 40 years old and now just trying to get pregnant. It's truly a pleasure meeting physicians with the incredible passion Dr.Seckin puts forth towards his patients and the treatment of their endometriosis. I expect nothing but great results!

I came to Dr Seckin with a very unusual situation, He took time to explain what was going on and my options, he offered me an option that no other doctor had, He was confident and made me feel very comfortable. His staff was so so polite and helpful, they helped to fit me in the schedule so that I wouldn't have to be in pain a minute longer than I had to. I recommend Dr Seckin to every woman looking for a solution to their problem. He has the knowledge and experience to make you better!

I flew in From Los Angeles to have surgery with Dr Seckin. He is an exceptional surgeon for so many reasons. The first reason is simply that he is remarkably skilled, beyond any comparison. Dr Seckin has a mission to do his best during all his surgeries and his best is of the highest caliber. From his residents, to his staff, to his nurses to the patients in his waiting room; no matter whom I encountered on my journey with Dr Seckin, everyone talked about his brilliance and admires him for his talent and mastery. The second, third, fourth and fifth reasons are: his humanity, his ability to listen, his willingness to find the right path with each individual case and, his honesty. I was a very reluctant patient. After battling recurrent pregnancy losses for 7 years I never considered that I had endometriosis or fibroids. Dr Seckin's kindness changed me and will forever be a part of my heart. Thank you Dr Seckin and your wonderful staff for playing such a pivotal role in our lives.

Dr. Seckin delivered my baby 18 yrs. ago & I’ve been going to him ever since then. Over the yrs., it’s been a pleasure to see him get recognized as one of the best physicians in the nation & beyond. The NY Times Mag. did a wonderful write up about him, stating that he “ranked among America’s top surgeons and gynecologists”. He’s a highly respected doctor, a recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor - a prestigious award given to Presidents, Nobel Prize winners, etc. A leading specialist in laparoscopic surgery, he’s also the founder of Endometriosis Foundation of America. His office is filled with people that come from all over the world to see him. When I developed a condition called adenomyosis, I was lucky that Dr. S was there to treat me. 1 month after my laparoscopic hysterectomy, I felt like a brand new person. He’s helped so many people faced with the most severe conditions of endometriosis – an expert in his field, a compassionate & caring doctor whom I’d recommend to all!

He performed an unnecessary procedures for a condition that would have reversed itself and caused my cervix to become malformed & friable to the degree that no physician can garner adequate viable tissue for annual pap tests or to get beyond this tissue to perform a uterine biopsy. As a result, I recently underwent a surgical procedure for a simple diagnostic test that, had it not been for his surgeries of mutilation, could have been performed in an office in 10 mins. 2 highly reputed physicians assert: his procedures of 6 yrs were not necessary, my current dangerous situation is directly attributed to his penchant for over prescribing & performing surgeries. This "doctor" uses every form of social media to promote himself while harming patients. There are too many of us dealing with the repercussions of his knife-happy practices. Seek a second opinion: There are many other doctors who treat endometriosis in a far more humane & compassionate manner than this awful little man.

After years of seeing doctors who didn't believe I had endometriosis or who weren't knowledgable enough to provide any helpful information, Dr Tamer Sekin was a breath of fresh air. He was very kind, helpful and knowledgable, and within minutes was able to confirm that I did indeed have endometriosis. I would suggest Dr Sekin to any woman who has been living with this disease as he can help educate you about what your body is experiencing, and set you on a path to recovery. His staff was also extremely helpful with scheduling all further tests needed.

I am 6 days post op and I cannot begin to express the gratitude I feel for this man. He is truly my hero. My family also chose Dr. Seckin in the past and couldn't be happier and healthier. Dr. Seckin spent 5 hours In surgery, meticulously working on every inch of my uterus... Amazingly suspending my ovaries to clean every crevice, leaving nothing undetected! My once scarred stage 4, horrifically painful insides will now be worry free and sparkle beautifully because of this man and his true God given talent. I am forever grateful for his knowledge, humble nature, kind smile and words to me in the recovery room ( that meant so much). I was extremely worried about the cost, but he worked with me and my insurance. Kim, you are a doll and I cannot thank you enough for all your help. I hope this helps the many of you who are wracking your brains researching the Internet. It's def scary...and stressful.... But you have landed the right man for the job! God bless him :)

I am 32-year old woman who has suffered with endometriosis since the age of 14. For many years i’ve lived with excruciating pain and was desperate enough to try medications from lupron to percocet, various forms of birth control and any procedure with the promise of curing my symptoms and pain. Relief if any was temporary and eventually my pain would return and grow progressively worse.Several weeks ago, Dr.Seckin, Dr. Heymann and their team of professionals performed my surgery which involved cyst removal, ovary and fallopian tube treatment along with bowel reconstruction. For the first time since i can remember, i can say that i’ve experienced pain-free days and although the recovery process will take time and i’m not out of the woods yet, i am thankful to Dr.Seckin, lucy, kim and the rest of the staff for being so caring, kind and professional and for providing me a new found hope. It is refreshing to know that doctors like him are still out there.

I had long suspected that I had endometriosis and decided to make the trip out of state since there are no doctors with his expertise in our area. He made us visit him twice. The first visit was informative. The second visit he did nothing but talk about himself and when we asked about payment, he mumbled on that insurance fees are never enough for NYC doctors and that we might have to pay 25%, 50% or maybe 100% of the surgery which he wouldn't tell us how much it was. Like many women with endo, I'm barely able to work and we mostly subsist on my husband's salary which is middle class. The staff was supposed to talk to the insurance company and get back to me. They never did. The doctor didn't seem to want to deal with us since we weren't rich. I have since had excision surgery with a different specialist and my experience was far better. Now I'm getting invitations to his fancy celebrity endo ball. Ha! What a joke!
