Reviews are indivialized, based on each person’s experience. From my standpoint, he does not involve the patient in an open DETAILED discussion about options. When asked about details, he stated that he had already provided details. Wrong! His after visit notes make important care statements that were not revealed to me. Sure, I know a MD is not perfect. This situation is the best. I feel that he is not invested in my care. Looks like I will seeing another spine MD. Very disappointed and somewhat shocked about this situation.

My name is Wayne amburn I saw dr gottfried in July 2022 thru November he didn't want to operate even though I was in severe pain he said he would build a cage around my spine if I wanted instead I went to see dr ostergard at Carolina neurosurgery in greensboro he operated and only had to clean disc up that was pressing on nerve done Feb 2023 now my pain is gone stay away from dr gottfried he does not know what he's doing and the last visit I had with him he told all he had was sympathy for me please go to dr ostergard and get relief

Doctor gave out his cell telephone after surgery and followed me for over 3 years postop.

His PA has more to say about your surgery that Dr. Gottfried. He does the surgery and then you're on your on.

Dr. Oren Gottfried saved my spine and mobility with his experience, knowledge and abilities. His awesome manners, personality and calmness in being patient and carefully explaining the pros and cons of my spinal surgery were very reassuring. The results of his work has given me an opportunity to do physical things I before simply could not do. This very gifted neurosurgeon is to be trusted and respected in his work. Dr. Gottfried did surgery and it was an epic failure. I still has severe neuropathy pains in both feet. His PA acts as if he's the doctor and usurps Dr. Gottfried's authority by overriding the his decisions and recommendations. I need to have another laminectomy because this one was unsuccessful.
